"Prove yourself as the best artist for the week".

Warmest greetings to everyone and the honourable moderators of this community, my name is @emmaboy23 from Nigeria and today I shall be sharing my creativity with you all through art. Art is more than strokes and shades—it is a language, a form of self-expression, and a tool of silent confidence. This week, I challenged myself to prove something not just to others, but to myself: that I am capable of standing out as the best artist among my peers. To do this, I chose a subject that represents everything I aimed to channel—intensity, focus, and raw creative instinct. I chose to draw a portrait of a wolf. Before going into the process of how I drew this, first I would like to give an appreciation to @dequeen for creating this contest enabling us to express our artist ability in different ways. And without further ado here's how I made this drawing.

Drawing materials

• A4 paper
• pencil
• eraser
• sharpener
• black pen

step 1

To begin with my drawing, I wrote my username and date above the paper and then i started with sketching the wolf's head, ensuring symmetry while capturing the natural curvature of it's ears and jawline.

step 2

Then I moved over to draw the eye's, shaded them very well with my black pen to give me a clear picture of what I wanted and I also sketched the nose of the wolf as well.

step 3

Next I then added details to the face of the wolf to make it look like the fur.

step 4

After doing that, I then added the whiskers close to the nose of the wolf and added details to its ears as well.

step 5

Then finally, I darken my pencil and shaded it more to give me a better and clearer result.

And then below is my final result and a selfie with I and my drawing.

Drawing this wolf with only a pencil reminded me that creativity doesn’t need complexity—it needs intention. It’s amazing how a single tool and a quiet room can awaken something primal and powerful. The wolf now stares back at me, not just as a finished piece of art, but as a mirror to my dedication and quiet growth as an artist. Hope you all enjoyed reading through and I have come to the end of my post for today.
