Prove yourself as the best artist for the week

Greetings to the entire house and the wonderful members of this community, I hope all is going well and you are all doing just fine. Drawing has always been more than just an activity for me—it’s a form of expression, a deep-rooted passion that gives life to my thoughts and emotions. When I saw this contest titled “Prove Yourself as the Best Artist for the Week,” organized by @dequeen I didn’t just see a competition—I saw an invitation to rise and let my creativity roar. That inspiration led to the drawing above, a fierce and expressive pencil artwork of a roaring tiger, created completely by hand. Here are the step by step process.

step by step process

step 1

The process began with a light sketch using soft pencil, I picked up my pencil that simple yet powerful tool I've grown to love and I carefully drew the shape of the tigers head.

step 2

Next I drew the mouth and the complete face of the tiger as shown below.

step 3

Next I outlined the facial features, then detailed the curve of the mouth and the sharpness of the teeth, all while ensuring symmetry and boldness.

step 4

After doing that, The most challenging yet satisfying part was bringing texture into the fur and stripes. I used controlled strokes to blend light shading with dark, bold lines—especially around the tiger's mane.

step 5

In this step, I paid close attention to the direction of the fur, using different shading techniques to make it feel layered and dynamic. The ears, eyes, and nose were refined with darker graphite and ink for contrast, which helped anchor the drawing and give it life.

step 6

Then finally I added some more details to my drawing and a darker shading to give it a sharper and clear view and I was done with my drawing, below is my final result.

What makes this drawing even more special is that it wasn’t created out of pressure, but from joy. The joy of creating. The joy of being part of a community that values artistic expression. The joy of proving to myself that I can always grow, always improve, and always express more deeply. with every drawing I make, I continue to prove—to myself and the community—that art is my passion, my gift, and my way of life. Hope you all liked my post and feel free to share your thought on it.
