"📢 Contest || Unlock Your Creativity || Week - 19".
Good day to everyone and I hope all is well. it's me @emmaboy23, here once again to participate in this contest titled: Contest || Unlock Your Creativity || Week - 19 organized by @zisha-hafiz with a pencil art I recently did. Creating powerful artwork doesn’t always require a canvas full of color—sometimes, all it takes is a pencil and a clear vision. I chose to bring to life the striking portrait of a young boy, focusing on clean lines, realistic shading, and emotional depth. Here are the steps I took in creating this art.
DRAWING MATERIALS
• A4 paper
• pencil
• eraser
• sharpener
• black pen.
step 1
I began by lightly sketching the basic structure of the boys head, with a Hb pencil I drew his eyes, nose and mouth.
step 2
The next part was the hair, The hairstyle was a major highlight of this portrait. It combined curly hair on top with a neatly shaved design on the side. To create the curly texture, I used tiny circular motions with a 2B pencil, overlapping strokes to build volume.
step 3
After doing that, I then draw the fabric which is rapped around his shoulder, I used a combination of line work and shading to replicate the folds and patterns in the cloth.
step 4
At this point, I then added shade to the face of the boy and some details as well.
step 5
After completing that step, I then began to add depth and used a darker pencil for my outlined and I was done with my drawing.
Below is a selfie of i and my drawing
Through this piece, I aim to inspire others to look closer at the everyday faces and moments around them. Art isn’t just about perfection—it’s about connection. And with just a pencil, a vision, and a blank sheet, we can unlock creativity that speaks louder than words. Hope you all liked my drawing.
