Title : The hidden trauma
We live in a generation where everyone is wearing a mask, acting happy or acting like everything is fine, but deep down a lot of us are not happy. There are certain factors that makes us unhappy and this varies with everyone, trauma is real and it’s funny how a lot of us are passing through this and don’t know about it, this traumas tend to shaping our lives as adult, ever wonder why you act jn a certain way or react in a certain way but deep down you inner voice keep telling you this is not you.
Traumas can be passed from parent to child, and a lot of kids who face abuse or neglect tend to get influenced easily which may lead them into having addictions. This addictions is what they see as an escape route for all their worries and anxiety.
Back in the university I used to know a girl who smokes weed a lot, this girl looks so innocent that you will never believe she’s addicted to smoking. I know of another guy same scenario, if you look deep into this peoples live there is always a lacuna, more like a yearning to be heard or to be seen. They want to stop this habit but never have the courage to stop because they are already deep in it.
This drawing is a drawing I did so as to encourage anyone reading this blog to not feel left out, if you are battling with something emotionally, either an addiction or in an abusive relationship, always keep your mentality in check because depression is real, we often don’t have time to access our mental health because life has thrown at us struggles, ever since we became adults and have responsibilities on our shoulders.
Stay strong my brothers my sisters, we only have one life to live, in the next 70 years i guess we all won’t be here again, but what will matter is the legacy we lived behind, the way we treat people and also treat our selves.
if you are reading this and you still battle with some traumas or addiction, please seek help this is not a time to bottle things up, talk to a trusted brother or sister it will help you relieve some of the pain inside of you, if you have the money try and see a Psychologist Or physiatrist.
