I think it is necessary to add an old educational institution of Dinajpur district to the steem atlas map. Today I am going to present Dinajpur Government College. In 1941, it started its activities as a branch of Kolkata Ripon College in Nimnagar Balubari area of ​​Dinajpur. Initially, teaching activities were conducted for classes XI and XII. In 1966, as a new branch of the college, it started its activities in the name of Dinajpur Degree College on 65 acres of land in Suihari area of ​​Dinajpur. Initially, undergraduate courses were introduced in 5 subjects. Dinajpur Government College currently has a teaching system in 15 subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Let's get acquainted with the buildings of Dinajpur Government College.

The oldest building in the college

Arts Building:
The oldest building is the Arts Building and all the subjects of the Humanities Department were taught in this building from the beginning. Due to the increase in the number of students, some departments have now been shifted to the new building. Arts Building was established in 1963 and classes are taught in this building for two subjects namely English and Islamic History.

Department of Zoology/Botany

All activities in the fields of zoology and botany are conducted in this building.

Examination Control Building

Exam Building:
This building has 4 departments and we call it Exam Building because the campus exams are controlled from this building. Every room in this building is modern and air-conditioned.

Business Studies Building Department of Accounting and Management

Business Studies Building: This college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in only two subjects of business. The classes and examinations for these two subjects, accounting and management, are held in this building. I have completed my postgraduate studies in management from this college.

Science Building

Since the Dinajpur Government College campus is a very large place, each building is located at a considerable distance. The first thing you see when you enter the Science Building campus through gate number two is the Science Building. One of the main reasons why the Science Building is known to everyone is because the college bank is located in this building, where admissions or other financial transactions are done.

My favorite place on campus is this library building.

The college has a two-story library which is open and closed according to the college hours. 300 students can study together in the library. There is a facility to borrow books from the library which is a great convenience for the students.

The campus's vast green field is a place for students to play.

The college has a huge playground where students do sports activities. There are many big and small trees around the playground which provide shade. There are also some small playgrounds in front of each building.

The college campus has a canteen and a large garage for storing bicycles and motorcycles. The college has a two-room auditorium hall for holding various programs.

Shaheed Minar and Cultural Discussion Center

There is a Shaheed Minar to pay homage to the college's language. Next to the Shaheed Minar, there is an open platform and cultural practice center for cultural practice.

College Principal's Office and Front Area

The college is managed by the college administration. The head of the college is the college principal. This is the office of the college principal. There is a steel sculpture of a lotus flower in the principal's hall which is known as Swapnil Swadhinata.

College residential (hostel) building for Muslim students

Shaheed Ajay Residential Hall (for Hindu students)

There are 4 hostels (residential) for the students of the college. 3 for boys and one for girls, but the girls' hostel is divided into three units. Also, a 10-storey IT park is being built in the college, from where 10,000 students will acquire skills in technology together.

Place of worship

There is a mosque in the college where the call to prayer and the prayer of the night are performed according to the prayer times. The mosque is air-conditioned. The mosque is located next to the Science Building and is adjacent to the second gate. The college also has a large area where the college has mango and litchi gardens and a pond.
