The almond market is held three days a week, on Fridays, Mondays, and Wednesdays, from dawn to dusk, where farmers go to sell more products. In this market, only almonds are sold in the morning. An estimated 20 million ($170,000) in cash is traded per market. I got this information from the traders there. This huge amount of money is bought and sold in just 4 hours in the morning. Today we will take our almonds to the market again and the morning will start at the almond market.

At 5 am, I loaded the almond van with 21 bags of almonds. Today, we will also take two vans of almonds. Today, the sky is cloudy and it is raining occasionally. I covered the van with plastic and sent the van to the market. We will go to the market by bike after a while. We freshened up and came to the market by bike, although we had to brake at two places on the road to avoid the rain.

There are fewer almond vendors coming to the market today than on other days due to the rain. We are standing with nuts for the buyer, as if the buyers are also looking for an opportunity to buy nuts at a low price due to the rain. We have covered our nut van with polythene. We sold our nuts, but when we handed over the nuts to the buyer, he was underweight, as a result of which we did not sell the nuts to that buyer. Later, we sold the nuts to another buyer. We brought 21 bags (50 kg per bag) of nuts today and sold them at 2750 taka per maun (40 kg). The total price of our nuts was 72187 BDT (৳600 USDT). We have to pay a monthly fee for selling in the market, which goes to the government, 50 BDT per maun (40 kg) ($0.42). This money is collected here by those who take over this market from the government through a tender for 1 year.

We will return home and draw water from a field next to our house. We used to use a motor to water us here, but we are in trouble because our transformer was stolen. We will draw water from the pond today. We took the machine and damaged an old pipe while pumping water. The pipe burst when the water pressure was applied. We need to get a new pipe. We two brothers went to the market on our bikes and bought a 20-foot pipe for 1,450 BDT ($12). While we were getting the pipe, someone had an accident while carrying this big pipe on the bike, but nothing major happened. We are now using a new pipe to water the land.

I have been thirsty all day. I ran the machine until 8 pm. The tractor was supposed to come today, but it did not come. I stopped the machine because this water will not last if I do not cultivate it. I may have to set up the machine again the next morning. I'm finishing it today, God willing.
