Am thrilled to engage in the steemit learning challenge first week of season 27 under the topic of making dessert from grains. This week everyone is entitled to use their hand one out of the two recipes called gram flour delight or Semolina pudding. From my teacher's explanation, I realised that this dessert are very important part of a menu in any gatherings, party or event. I also understand that Desserts are sweet treats for everyone that bring joy and satisfaction. Am here to carry out practical the first time and enjoy the desert as well.

It is advisable that we all should remember nutrition is one of the pillars of our health and general well-being. In less than no time let processed to contest practical and questions.

Do you think desserts are important at special events?

In this question my answer is capital Yes,

Dessert is widely know and consumed by millions of people around the globe.It plays a significant role in different special occasion. I have experience different and enjoy dessert in wedding ceremony, holidays and parties.

Consumption of dessert bring friends and family members and relatives together.It add a touch of sweetness and unforgettable memories and moment.

Make one of the recipes that are shared in the course with a detailed step-by-step procedure along with images.

After having intensive and a clear knowledge on how to carry out this week challenge,I choose Semolina Pudding.

We need the following ingredients

  • Semolina
  • Clarified butter
  • Sugar
  • Cardamom
  • Food color
  • Nuts

In a clean dry pan,I go in with clarified butter, seconded by Cardamon, I allow it to fry 1-2 minutes.

Next step comes with adding of measured Semolina, I mixed well for few mins until great aroma comes out.

Thereafter,I added my measured measure quantity of sugar in it and add cups of water.

Then add food color, the orange 🧡 colour made it appealing to the eye. Therefore, I cover the lid for few minutes. After 3-4 minutes oil starts separate from the mixture now it's ready to serve.

It was an energetic process. I take out the halwa in a pan and garnishes it with nuts.

Share the health benefits of the ingredients used in the recipe.

Sugar is an ingredient that is widely know and use in the preparation of different recipes . It has it own health benefits and wellness to our bodies. Sugar is a simple carbohydrates that provides energy for our body. It is advisable that we should consumed more of natural sources of sugar than extracted. High exposure to sugar cause tooth decay and other health condition.

Almond nuts: It added appetizing look to semolina pudding , since it use for garnishing and also the nutritional value of nuts is a good source of healthy fats and vitamins.Almonds nut help in lowering cholesterol levels, contains antioxidant and healthy fat which helps in regulating blood sugar levels.

Butter is also a nutritious food. It provides mainly fats, vitamin E, A,B12 and D , different minerals like calcium, iron,magnesium in very small amount.

Semolina is a type of yellow floor made from durum wheat. It is a source of iron which is essential for our red blood cells, it contains fiber, vitamins and minerals. Remember it is carbohydrates source of food which provides energy for the body.

Cardamom is a spice with a whole lot of benefits. It helps in relieving bloating and gas. And also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. All of the is nutritious to our health.

Food colour make our meal appealing to the eye. It contains antioxidant which helps protect against our cell damage and chronic disease and it also supports our immune because of vitamins and minerals.
