Steem For Bangladesh Contest : Rainy day

Greetings to members of this group, happy Sunday from me, @destinedhanik from Nigeria to you all. We are in the rainy season and while most people enjoy the dry season, the rainy cannot be done sitout. @mostofajaman has given me the opportunity to share how I spend my rainy days and I'll do justice to it.

The rainy season in my country, Nigeria starts from April and ends in October. This period is when a lot of people do their farm work. I spend my rainy days doing various things especially on a day I don't have to go to work.

On days I don't go to work like weekends, I wake up late due to the cold. The first thing I do after observing my morning devotion is to boil hot water and drink. This helps in digestion and relieves the symptoms of cold.

After I have drank the hot water, I do my morning chores which includes sweeping the floor and cleaning the house. When I'm done with cleaning of the house, I have my bath and eat breakfast. On a rainy day, I wear cloth that covers me from head to toe and I even put on socks, because prevention is better than cure. My breakfast on a rainy day is usually tea and bread or custard. This is what makes up my morning activity on a rainy day.

Since the weather is always so cold, I go back to my bed after breakfast and sleep for an hour or two, when I wake up, I pass time by reading novels or watching movies. I love thriller movies. I also love Nollywood movies, that's Nigerian movies cos they tend to teach lots of lessons.

This movie talked about the consequences of ignoring doctors report and going ahead to marry a particular person thereby bringing punishment on the children who turned out to be sicklers or SS. When I feel hungry, I cook what to eat. On a rainy day, the food I eat differs as I prefer spicy or pepperish food due to the cold.

When I'm done eating, I spend my time playing games on my phone that improves my thinking prowess, chief among which is scrabble. Scrabble helps improve my memory and helps me think fast. Sometimes I lose, but sometimes I win too.

When I'm tired, I read a little again or watch a movie before sleeping. My rainy day ends by 9pm as I try to sleep as early as 9pm. So that is how I spend my rainy day.
