I have had the opportunity to visit cemeteries in different countries many times and I know that this is the final destination of man but I have never felt so much peace in any other cemetery.

This is a cemetery by name but it has many luxurious sections and each section has trees, lawns and sitting facilities.

Citizens of about eighty countries live in Australia, who have different religions and different customs, so there are burial places according to different religions and customs.

Would you believe that a cemetery can be made into a meditative park? But the Woden Cemetery in Canberra which was opened in 1936 is just that.

This cemetery is not only a final resting place for people but has been developed as a beautiful park to honor the lives of their loved ones and to celebrate with their dead relatives and friends by spending some more time with them.

As is the tradition of Australians, they make every place grand so they have given this cemetery a grand look and made it into a formal park.

This cemetery has been built in different areas, which have also been given a name like Liquidambar Lane, Oak Boulevard.

Now you decide whether you will call it a cemetery or a park with amazing landforms and features, consider it a place for your past family members and friends to sit with them and contemplate for some time.

This cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Canberra, where someone was buried for the first time about 120 years ago and now apart from orchids, many rare and endangered plants from Australia and other places of the world have been planted here.

I come here often because it is a short cut to go to Weston Mall, so its grounds seem to me like a green place to find out and enjoy the ultimate truth of life.

Woden Cemetery has a wide range of funeral rite options as indicated on its various boards, which are explained in more detail here about their services.

Canberra Memorial Park has a wide range of options for burial and cremation, burial and memorial and each park has its own distinct features.

Australians are very practical so they plan their own funeral and even take out insurance for it well in advance which includes everything from burial to funeral.

They believe that the decision of burial or cremation is a personal one and it affects the life of a person.

So they plan not only their loved ones but also their own funeral and the management of this cemetery helps them to make the right decision.

Their office is nearby which is quick to explain everything in detail.

It includes the following allocations:

Headstone

Lawn
Plaque Beam
Vault

I could have given more but some of these areas are prohibited to walk through or doesn't feel like taking photos of mourning friends and relatives so I avoided them.

Most people use their own cars in Australia but if you are a visitor the cemetery is situated close Woden local bus interchange at a walking distance of just 2 minutes.
