What does "refugee" mean in your own words? Is this day celebrated in your country?

Various reasons or factors cause a person or certain group to have to leave the area where they live or even their birthplace. Although this condition is never desired by anyone who experiences it. All of that is because they are forced and reluctant to be endured by individuals or groups. Refugees are groups or people who are forced to leave their home country to seek protection in another place or another country that is safer and more comfortable. Many factors cause refugees to have to do this for the safety of their own lives and their families. Avoiding persecution, armed conflict, and natural disasters are reasons for them to flee in order to seek protection in another country.

Name a country that is known for hosting a large number of refugees. What is current situation of them?

For refugees, a place that is considered safe and can accept them well will be the main goal. Because there are several countries in the world that do not want to deal with refugees. Leaders in countries that refuse have certain reasons for not accepting refugees. It is the right of every country to accept or not accept these refugees. However, there are so many countries in the world that still care and accommodate refugees well. In fact, these countries do not look at the race or religion of the refugees. Everything is done only for the sake of humanity between fellow creatures of God. The following countries are the countries with the largest number of refugees.

Iran This country in the Asian region is still the country with the largest number of refugees in the world. This Arab country hosts the most refugees in the world. Refugees accommodated in Iran mostly come from neighboring countries, Afghanistan. Refugees from Afghanistan choose Iran because of its progressive and inclusive policies that provide access to education, health, and livelihoods. In addition, Pakistan is also a destination for refugees from Afghanistan. The two Islamic countries accommodate almost ninety percent of the six million Afghan refugees worldwide. Afghan refugees leave their country and seek refuge in other countries due to conflict and insecurity.

How do you think children who are refugees might be affected by leaving their homes?

Leaving a place of residence, especially for a long period of time, will certainly have negative impacts, especially for children. The impacts that arise are both social, economic, and health. Also have negative effects due to experiences, especially traumatic ones and difficult living conditions after being displaced. Many refugees experience other bad things due to leaving their homes. Refugee women and children are very vulnerable to various forms of violence and human trafficking to exploitation. Refugees also face obstacles in finding work due to lack of skills, discrimination, or language barriers.

If you could send a message of hope to a refugee. What would it say?

Leaving a beloved home or country is not something that every human being wants. But sometimes there are other factors or because someone is forced to flee to a safer place. Keep the spirit for refugees around the world in going through this unfortunate thing. Because be sure that there will be a better way in the future for all refugees. Although facing many challenges, never give up because you are not alone. Be sure that one day you refugees will get something beautiful for the future. Therefore, in welcoming World Refugee Day on June 20, it is important for us to continue to provide support, protection, and opportunities for refugees to rebuild their lives.
