History of Dharmasagar Lake: Around 1750, the then King Dharmapala dug a pond to alleviate the water problem of the people. The huge pond was named Dharmasagar after the king. The pond was dug on an area of ​​23 acres. Since the pond is in the middle of the city, it has become a centre of joy for people in the afternoon. A tourist centre has been built on one side of the pond. On the other side is the Comilla Stadium. On one side, a park has been built for children for entertainment.

To go to the entertainment centre of Dharmasagar Dighi, you have to first reach Comilla city from the capital, Dhaka. The distance from the capital Dhaka to Comilla city is about 90 kilometres. There are several special bus services from the capital, Dhaka. It will take about one hour and thirty minutes to reach Comilla from Dhaka by AC and non-AC buses. The bus will cost (200-400) taka. Apart from that, there is the facility of going to Comilla by train from Dhaka. You have to go to Dhaka Kamalapur Railway Station and reach Comilla Railway Station by train. It takes ten minutes from the Comilla bus station or train station to reach Dharmasagar Dighi.

There are two gates to enter the recreation centre of Dharmasagar Dighi. A large number of visitors visit the western side of the pond every afternoon. The place is especially popular for the entertainment of the people of the city. Since childhood, I used to come to the recreation centre of Dharmasagar in Comilla city from the village. There are a few boats in the pond which give pleasure to the visitors on boat trips. There is a seating area on the western side of the pond, and a wall is provided so that people do not have accidents if they fall into the pond.

There is a lot of crowd here on weekends and public holidays. Big old trees have been planted on the western side of the pond to enhance its beauty. A place has been created to sit under the trees. There are toy and food stalls for the entertainment of children. I come to Dharmasagar Entertainment Centre with my son. My son and I enjoy the fun together. School and college boys and girls come here from the city to visit.

In addition to our country's local food, Chinese food is available. There are also different types of ice cream for children. Every morning, people from the city come to exercise by the pond. There are many big fish in the pond. Some people feed the fish. This is a nice place to hang out with friends every afternoon.

There is no entry fee to enter the entertainment centre. There is adequate security for tourists. The place is very important for the people of the crowded city. There are beautiful arrangements for the elderly to walk along the pond in the morning. A children's park has been provided next to the pond for children to increase entertainment. Dharmasagar is a beautiful place to travel with the whole family. There are a few food hotels at the entrance gate of Dharmasagar Pond, where local and foreign food is available.
