Kumudini Women's Medical College, Mirzapur

Kumudini Women's Medical College is a renowned medical educational institution located in Mirzapur, Tangail District, Bangladesh. It is run under the Kumudini Welfare Trust, whose founder was the humanitarian philanthropist Ranada Prasad Saha. He established the Kumudini Hospital in Mirzapur in 1944, which later made a huge contribution to the health and education sectors. Kumudini Women's Medical College is located on the south side of the Mirzapur Old Bus Stand. You can see a huge building on the left side of the road.

Two flags have been hoisted in front of the main building, one of which is the flag of Bangladesh. If you want to know its history, it is said that Kumudini Women's Medical College was established in 2001 to play a leading role in the promotion of women's education. It was the only full-fledged medical college for women students with modern medical education, research and training facilities. However, with the evolution of time, it has been updated and now medical education is provided through more advanced technology. The main road and some strange and beautiful trees have been planted in front of the building.

Currently, Kumudini Hospital is one of the most renowned hospitals in Bangladesh. That is why we have chosen it as the most modern technology hospital in our Mirzapur Upazila. Only women and teachers of that college can enter this women's medical college next to the hospital. Outsiders are not allowed to enter, so I could not enter. However, a handicraft shop has been built outside with the name Kumudini. Where the necessary items of all the students of that hospital and medical college are sold. However, outsiders can also enter here.

The building in front looks like a European style building. Since Kumudini Hospital is connected to this college, students get the opportunity to directly provide patient care and gain medical experience. Apart from the MBBS course, there are various medical related auxiliary departments here and the college is affiliated to Dhaka University. Apart from Bangladeshi students, students from many other countries from Asia come to study here. There is a huge gate outside the building through which one has to enter.

Since it is a renowned and quality women's medical college. So teachers come from far away to teach here. There are cars as vehicles for teachers to come or move around. The cars of those teachers are parked on the side of the road in front of the hospital. The parking arena is very nicely arranged and they are monitored by CCTV cameras all the time. The teachers' cars are usually black and white in color.

Kumudini Women's Medical College is known as an important center for developing female doctors in the country. As an additional opportunity, there is a huge hospital next to their college. So, there are maximum facilities for those who do internship here. Female doctors who do internship only go to the hospital and take care of the patients and select which disease they have, this is their internship. A flyover bridge has been built directly over the road to go from the medical college to the hospital.

All the students study here all day and they have breakfast or lunch on time. There is a personal restaurant for them which has been built only by Kumudini Medical College. It is located on the southern side of the college where there is a river. Various types of food are available in this restaurant. Especially breakfast, lunch and dinner. The signboard in front of this restaurant says Kumudini Cafeteria. There is a river next to the restaurant, which further enhances the beauty of the hospital and medical college.

While I was there, I saw that there were many Pakistani students in this hospital besides Bangladeshi students. Maybe there were some more students from India because India is the neighboring country of Bangladesh. But I saw some Pakistani girl students who were speaking in Urdu and they were wearing white medical college dresses. Since I live in Mirzapur upazila, it is a matter of great pride for me that our upazila has the most reputed women's medical college. To reach this college, you have to choose a beautiful road from Mirzapur old bus stand, on the side of which road is the gate of the medical college.
