Hello Ladies & Gentlemen. Welcome to steem-atlas. If there is one of the most beautiful and prestigious universities in Bangladesh, it is Rajshahi University. Rajshahi University is one of the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions in Bangladesh. It was established on July 6, 1953. It was established as the second university outside Dhaka University in East Pakistan (present Bangladesh) with the aim of expanding higher education. If you first look at the building in front of it, you will understand how prestigious it is.

From a distance, the main building looks like a royal structure. It is designed in a very European style. It is located right next to the highway, so its entrance is very easy to see from the front. There is an entrance in front of Rajshahi University where a huge pillar has been built. It is clearly written there in which year it was established and the exit point is mentioned.

Parking Area 📍

Rajshahi University is currently one of the largest public universities in Bangladesh, with more than 50 departments, 12 faculties and about 38,000 students studying. It is known nationally and internationally for the quality of education and research. If you enter through the gate, you will see a parking area in front of the main building. This university has parking areas in different places, but there are some parking areas in front of the main building that are only for exits.

Martyred Intellectuals Monument 📍

Let's go inside. First of all, you will see the Martyred Intellectuals' Memorial. The most proud and painful monument of Rajshahi University is the Martyred Intellectuals' Memorial. It was originally built in memory of the teachers, students and intellectuals who were martyred in the great Liberation War of 1971.

The memorial is located near the main gate of the university, which first catches the attention of all the visitors. This black and white monument reminds us of the spirit of the Liberation War, sacrifice and the value of independence. Every year on December 14, a special program is organized here in memory of the martyrs. Teachers and students pay their respects by laying wreaths.

Central Library 📍

Now if you move forward, you will see a library. The Central Library of Rajshahi University is the center of knowledge and research. It has about 4 lakh books, various types of newspapers, magazines, research papers and digital resources. The library is spread over 3 floors with separate reading rooms, computer sections and rooms designated for researchers. Here, students study silently, do research and enrich themselves by acquiring knowledge. The abundance of books and the environment are so attractive that many students spend a large part of the day here.

University bus station and system 📍

Let's take a look at the bus stand of Rajshahi University. The bus system of Rajshahi University is very well organized and student-friendly. The station is located next to the main entrance of the university. From here, various buses operate to various destinations inside and outside the campus according to a specific schedule. There are separate bus services for staff, teachers and students. There are single-decker and double-decker buses. The number of buses is increased especially during the morning and afternoon rush hours. There is also a designated women's bus for female students. This service is very important for students for safe transportation at low cost.

Walking trails in natural surroundings 📍

The beauty and green surroundings of the university fascinate anyone. The walking trails, filled with cool shade, trees filled with the cool breeze and the chirping of birds, provide a wonderful experience. The paths along the lake, the streets next to the Kala Bhavan, or the Shaheed Minar leading to the Arts Gallery are places of peace for the body and mind. Many students and teachers go out for walks in the morning and evening.

Book Pillar Area 📍

The Book Pillar is a unique work of art and a place known in the university as a symbol of knowledge. It looks like an open book, with pillars arranged in the shape of multiple books. It is located next to the library and students sit here to chat, take pictures and practice knowledge. It is an ideal place for book lovers. This area is also one of the centers for organizing cultural events or literary gatherings of the university.

Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium 📍

Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium is one of the cultural venues of the university. Regular cultural programs, drama, debate competitions and various national and international seminars are held here. This auditorium, which has a capacity of 400-500 spectators, was built inspired by the spirit of the revered poet Nazrul. It is an important platform for students to express their creativity.

The university has a single memorial that bears the marks of various movements and struggles. This monument has been built to preserve the memory of various important historical events including student movements, mass uprisings, Martyrs' Day. It is a living testimony to the history of the university.

Juice shop inside the university 📍

One of the most popular juice shops on campus is Raihan Juice Corner, which is located next to the Kala Bhavan. Fresh juices of various fruits are available here such as apple, orange, banana, dragon, watermelon, etc. Drinking cold juice at this shop to relieve fatigue or while chatting with friends brings a heavenly peace. Hundreds of students come here every day due to the relatively low prices and healthy environment. We all had raw mango juice there. Martyr Memorial Museum 📍

The Martyr Memorial Museum of Rajshahi University is a historical museum established in memory of the teachers, students and employees who were martyred in the 1971 Liberation War. It is located next to the Martyr Intellectuals Memorial. Letters, photographs, weapons, newspapers, maps and personal memorabilia from the Liberation War are preserved here. This museum bears tangible evidence of the history of the university and the country's freedom struggle. It plays an important role in instilling patriotism and interest in history among students and visitors.

Rajshahi University is the largest university in Bangladesh. So it is a long-term task to complete it. I have visited some sectors as much as I can in the time I have and presented them to you. Each sector of Rajshahi University is a center of emotion, memory and culture for students. If I could study in this university, I would consider myself lucky. This university, with its beauty, environment, infrastructure and history, is a huge educational institution where stories, pride and love are hidden in every corner.
