Rainy morning

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barkatuhu Dear friends, how are you all? I hope you are all well. I am also well by the infinite mercy of Allah. Today I will share. About a rainy morning.

​Before dawn, there is a continuous rustling sound on the tin roof. I open the window and see that it is like another world outside! It has rained all night, it is still dripping. The sky is heavy, there is a wet softness around. This is a rainy morning.

​What a hazy morning, not like fog, yet everything is hazy. The trees along the road seem to have taken a bath and become greener and fresher. Water is dripping from the leaves. A sweet, earthy smell of wet soil comes to the nose—this smell is incomparable! Rainwater glistens on the balcony railing, window glass, and even the cement in the yard.

​What a laziness is inherent in this morning. It seems like I won't have to get up from the floor of the house. But my mind won't let me! I stand on the balcony with a mug of coffee in my hand. I see a crow or two, soaked and calling in a pitiful voice. The distant streets are almost empty, a couple of people are walking quickly with umbrellas on their heads. There is a sense of urgency in their movements.

​At this time, sitting at home, stories are gathered with hot tea and biscuits or muri and onions. Or I sit quietly by the window and read a book. The sound of the rain outside is like background music. It seems that all the noise of nature has calmed down, except for the gurgling of the rain. The comfort and peace of this morning are truly extraordinary, which instantly makes my mind feel better.
