Sunset Cafe is a tourist attraction in Bhatiari, Chittagong, where you can enjoy beautiful scenery and the sunset along with food. It's named Sunset Cafe because there's a spot here where you can get a somewhat beautiful view of the Bay of Bengal from a distance and the best view of the sunset.

It's situated near the BMA area, adjacent to the hathazari L
link road in Chittagong. It's open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM. This is also a tourist spot with extensive entertainment options for visitors. Since it's within a cantonment area so there are no security concerns.

You need a ticket to enter. After entering through the gate, if you go slightly to the left, you'll find the ticket counter. Each ticket costs 30 Taka and children under three years old don't require a ticket.

It's a place surrounded by natural beauty. It's mainly located on a hill, so you can climb the stairs next to the cafe to reach a peak similar to a mountain. When you reach at the top you'll see several beautiful trees and get a clear view of the surrounding environment.

There are some shaded seating areas at the top so visitors can sit and enjoy the surroundings. As I walked up, the sight of such lush greenery was truly refreshing. With many trees at the top, you'll always feel a gentle breeze.

Let me share with you the main sunset point. Coming down from the peak, you'll see the Sunset Cafe in the middle. There's also another building with Sena Shombar(Military equipment) written on it. I didn't go inside, but from a distance, it seemed like a snack store.

Tourists mostly prefer to stay at the Sunrise Point. From here, you can see distant areas with your naked eye, even the waters of the Bay of Bengal several kilometers to our west. This spot is primarily where the sunset can be seen, hence its name Sunset Point.

There are ample seating arrangements for tourists. Most people come here in groups, so there are groups of plastic chairs at regular intervals for everyone to socialize.

Some seating areas have canopies, so even if it rains outside, you can comfortably sit and enjoy the surroundings. Since it's a family spot, there are swings and some rides specifically for children to play on.

The main purpose of tourists coming here is to enjoy the beautiful hilly natural environment. It's impossible not to eat while touring, so Sunset Cafe offers several delicious food options for tourists. Although you won't find various cuisines like in a restaurant, the available food items are generally well-received.

This place is managed by army personnel. They don't have a specific menu card. Visitors can only enjoy the dishes cooked on that particular day. Some common items are always available. I've listed the food items you can enjoy from them, along with their prices:

That day, I felt like having ice cream. So, I bought two ice creams: one Savoy Crunchy and one Vanilla Cup. These are normally available in any grocery store, but they are priced slightly higher here. I ate the Crunchy first, followed by the cup ice cream.

Unfortunately, on the day I visited Sunset Point, the sky was heavily cloudy, so I couldn't see the sun. I waited until evening and spent time there, but due to the clouds, I couldn't enjoy the sunset.

I really like this place. Especially for those with a large friend circle, it's a great spot to hang out, drink coffee, and enjoy the sunset. I've visited here many times with my friends.

If someone visit this place once, he/she may fall in love with its natural beauty. There's no chance of getting bored here. If you can overlook the food aspect slightly and you're a nature lover, Sunset Cafe could be one of the best spots for you.
