It is very sad when family members get sick, and when that member is a loving mother, it feels like the whole family comes to a standstill. A mother's love is incomparable. While I may neglect myself, I don't compromise on my mother's treatment. We feel at peace when I see our mother happy and healthy.

In the morning, my mother felt unwell with chest pain. As soon as I found out, I tried to take her to a specialist doctor. I couldn't get an appointment in the morning, but I was able to got a serial for the afternoon with Dr. Mostafizur Rahman, an assistant professor in the cardiology department at Chittagong Medical College.

His chamber is at Popular Diagnostic Center, which is quite far from our area. I took my mother to the doctor's chamber around 5 PM. Our serial number was 5, so we had to wait for a while. I had heard that the doctor is very kind and treats his patients well.

When our turn came, I went into the doctor's chamber with my mother. He spoke with us for almost 15 minutes, which is a rare amount of time for a doctor to spend with a patient. He prescribed some medicines and advised us to get some immediate tests done.

The doctor's chamber was inside a popular diagnostic center in Chittagong. It was around 7 PM, and I thought it would be better to get the samples for the tests done right away, so my mother wouldn't have to make another visit from so far away.

I went to the reception and immediately got all the prescribed tests registered. The total cost for all the tests was 7348Taka/454 STEEM, but I didn't have that much money with me. So, I paid 2000 Taka/124 STEEM upfront, as the tests were urgent, and I could arrange & pay the rest when collecting the reports.

About six different tests were prescribed. The reception instructed me on which rooms we needed to go to for each sample. I looked at the prescription and realized that blood tests were likely ordered for her heart and liver, among other things. The last time to submit samples was 10 PM, so I tried to get all of them done within the remaining time.

I helped my mother give samples at different rooms and departments one by one. There weren't many issues with the other departments, but the ultrasound took a bit longer. Many patients were waiting for ultrasounds; there were so many patients that they had arranged for six separate test rooms.

Anyway, it was almost 10 PM by the time all the samples were collected. In between, I had gone out once to get some soft food for my mother so she wouldn't feel unwell during the process. Then I bought all the medicine from a pharmacy and back home.

The next day, I paid the remaining balance, collected the reports, and visited the doctor again. By the grace of God, all of her organs were fine and there were no major issues. I am now trying to help her get better by regularly giving her the medicines that were prescribed.

I am trying to do the some household chores alongside my daily work so my mother can rest a bit. I pray to God to keep my mother, and everyone's mother healthy.
