I am @saifuddinmahmud from Bangladesh. There is a beautiful and amazing learning challenge. The name of the challenge is Steemit Challenge Season 26 Week 02 - A Favourite Natural Tourist Attraction (Park, Mountain Walk, Scenic Spot). The challenge organised by @mohammadfaisal. I am going introducing a park. I hope everyone will like my post.

History of Ramna Park

Ramna Park is a park located in the Ramna area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. This park is a very attractive place to spend leisure time in a natural environment, hang out with friends, and spend some time alone away from the hustle and bustle. There are more than 200 species of plants throughout the entire area. There are some rare species and some trees that are hundreds of years old. The place is extraordinary with rows of tree gardens, lakes, seating areas, children's playing zones, exercise instruments, etc.

History

It was established in 1610 during the Mughal period. The Mughals named it Ramna Park. At that time, the Ramna range covered a vast area. The Mughals created gardens over a vast area. But later this place turned into a forest due to lack of proper maintenance. Later, around 1825, various steps were taken for the development of Dhaka city. One of those steps was the development of the Ramna area. At that time, the area was fenced off. At that time, horse racing was arranged here. However, Ramna Park was officially inaugurated in 1949. Every year on the first day of Baishakh, the New Year's Eve ceremony is organized at this Ramna Park. The New Year's Eve ceremony organized at the bottom of Ramna is now very popular. Ramna Park is one of the main centers of morning walks in the capital. Thousands of people come here every morning and afternoon to walk and exercise.

Entrance

There are a total of 5 gates throughout this entire area through which visitors can enter. There is no ticket to enter here. It is open to everyone.

Vehicles entrance gate

Vehicles cannot enter through all the gates. There is a specific gate through which only vehicles can enter.

1. Using microphones is prohibited inside the park.
2. Any kind of procession/gathering is prohibited.
3. Meetings/gatherings/mass gatherings are prohibited inside the park.
4. Putting up political banners/posters is prohibited inside the park.
5. Smoking is prohibited inside the park.
6. Carrying/receiving/buying and selling drugs inside the park is a punishable offense. Legal action will be taken against anyone carrying/receiving/buying and selling any drugs.
7. Playing sports (football/cricket) inside the park is completely prohibited.
8. Setting fires, tearing flowers in the park is prohibited.
9. Bicycles, motorcycles, vans, and cars are prohibited.
10. It is prohibited to put posters on the walls.
11. Entry without a child card is prohibited.
12. If entering using a ticket, it is necessary to pay the ticket at the time of entry.
13. Sleeping on the bench is prohibited.
14. Students coming to visit from school/college must take permission to enter the park.
15. Gambling is prohibited inside the park.

Internal roads

The roads inside the park are very beautiful. All the roads are lined with trees.

Some roads are single. They completely surround the lake. You can enjoy the beauty of the lake by walking along them.

There are some double roads. There are numerous rows of trees between the roads and roads on both sides.

There are trees in the middle of some roads. This has been done to increase the attractiveness of the road and the beauty of the park.

There are barricades at various road entrances inside the park. No bicycles, bikes, or other vehicles can enter through these.

Natural Lake

There is an extraordinarily beautiful lake inside the park. The height of the water of the lake and the beauty of its banks captivate anyone.

The small waves of water with the wind and the reflection of sunlight have doubled the beauty and clarity of the lake water.

To enjoy the beauty of the lake from close up, there are wooden bridges like this on both sides of the lake. The lake can be seen very well from here. This is one of the places inside this park to take pictures.

There are foot-powered boats for floating in the lake. These boats are rented for 30 minutes. You have to pay 150 taka to float in the lake for 30 minutes.

There are beautiful bridges to cross the lake. There are 2-3 such bridges throughout the area.

Trees

There are numerous trees throughout the area. There are many new and old trees with unknown names. There are many century-old trees throughout the area. The age of these trees is said to be about 50 to 100 years.

The entire area is surrounded by trees, roads, and seating areas. The chirping of birds and the southern wind are bound to calm your mind.

A boundary has been made to preserve the century-old trees and to prevent the soil from moving from the base of the trees.

Almost every tree has a signboard. The name of the tree is written here in English and Bengali. It is mentioned which plant family it belongs to and what is the scientific name of this tree. So, the visitors who visit the park can easily know the name of unknown trees.

Flower Garden

There are some small gardens inside the park. Some of these gardens are large in size. These gardens are bordered from all sides so that no one can destroy the flowers. There are many types of flowering trees in the garden.

Some flower gardens are small in size. The flowers blooming on the trees have doubled the beauty of the park.

Kids Zone

Some toys are kept here for children to play and have fun. Children enjoy playing with these toy instruments a lot. They climb up the stairs and slide down again. This gives children a lot of joy.

These are spring jumping pads. These pads have springs attached to them. When you jump here, you can spring up and go up.

These are a toy instrument. You can go inside them and get out through the holes.

These are hanging rings. They are hanging by holding the rings. There is a hiking arrangement next to the ring.

These are sliding instruments. You can go up and down by sliding them.

There are also many other toys in the kids zone. This is a nice place for children to enjoy some fun moments.

Exercise zone

Here, some instruments are kept for adults to do physical exercise. People who come to walk and exercise outside use these instruments to exercise.

Other facilities

Restaurant

There is a cafe and restaurant inside. Snack items, lunch and various afternoon items are available.

Seating area

There are small benches to sit on. Surrounded by small plants, you can spend a lot of time sitting comfortably on these benches.

There are small houses where many people sit together and talk and protect themselves from sudden rain. There are small benches inside the houses.

Security system

There are CCTV cameras for security througs the entire area. Apart from this, Ansar police members provide safety.

Toilet system

There is a good toilet system for men and women.

Parking area

There is a good car parking system. There is a good system for parking bikes, cars and any type of vehicle.

Dustbin

Dustbins are provided wherever there is garbage to prevent littering.

Personal Experience

My experience

The experience of visiting Ramna Park is extraordinary. Natural surroundings, chirping of birds, a pleasant environment free from noise. In this environment, chatting with friends and spending moments with family are always memorable. I also like walking along the lake. There are many beautiful spots to take pictures.

Tips for visitors

Go for a walk in the morning and afternoon. Meet friends and family. Do not pick flowers from flowering plants. Do not litter anywhere, but throw them in designated dustbins. Maintain decency. Follow the rules of the park. Enjoy the natural environment.
