The Diary Game: From Boredom To Joy (19-09-2025)

There's a common Nigerian slang that says, "this life no balance". Truly, this life no balance at all. I had always wanted some time off school stress and activities. I just wanted time away from the noise and I finally got a break but, the boredom is something else. It was relieving when secondary schools had not resumed and my siblings were home. Since school resumed on Monday, I've been home alone and it's really boring. It's either I'm doing chores, sleeping or seeing movies. So life no balance because when I was in school, I kept complaining of stress and now I'm home, I'm complaining of boredom. But whatever the case is, I chose the boredom over the school stress.

My bored self

I decided to escort my siblings to the main road, where they'll board a bus to school. I made sure they got on the bus before I left. I walked sluggishly back home.

Returning home

When I got home, I noticed that the paw paw fruit outside the compound was ripe. I quickly got a long stick and I brought it down. I took it inside, washed it and ate for breakfast.

I kept half of it in the refrigerator for my siblings. I went ahead to have my bath. My phone battery was low and I kept praying for power supply. After having my bath, I got dressed and laid on the bed and saw a movie on my phone. I slept off while seeing the movie. I woke up later and discovered there was power supply, I hurriedly charged my phone and went back to bed.

Seeing movies

My grandma called in the afternoon and asked me to bring my siblings over for the weekend. My siblings returned from school by 3:30 pm. They had their bath and had lunch. I had already packed their bags. We headed to Nwaniba to see our grandma.

She prepared soup for us. We ate together. We also sat with her and talked about a lot of things. I helped her pack her hair. It was a really lovely moment with my grandma. I headed home by 6:15 pm. That is how a day that started so boring ended well. Good night lovies.
