When last did you say hello to your friend?

A tree cannot make a forest. We all have one or more people we confide in and call friends which our successes in life wouldn't have been possible without them. I appreciate @okere-blessing for this contest, and below is my take on this topic: "When last did you say hello to your friend?"

Who is your friend? Why do you choose him/her as your friend ?
A friend, in the first place, is a person with whom you have a profound connection that has to do with trust, understanding, acceptance, sacrifice, honesty, affection and is always there for you in all circumstances.
I have a friend named Rev. Joshua Patrick Lambo, a minister of the Gospel, who currently serves as the resident pastor of New Estate Baptist Church in Bwari, Abuja, Nigeria. We grew up together in Akwanga. I chose him because he is God-fearing, honest in his dealings, and also has a concern for me and my affairs. I was his best man during his wedding.

How do you feel when you do not hear from your friend?

Any time I did not hear from him for days, I began to feel something was wrong because we always communicated with each other, whether through phone calls, WhatsApp or Facebook. There are times I call or text him and will not get a response, sometimes even up to a week, which he has let me know that sometimes he goes offline to help him concentrate and seek the face of God.

What are those qualities you look for before calling someone your friend?

The qualities I look for before calling someone my friend are:

• Affection: This has to do with liking and caring for someone. My friend should be able to like a lot of things about me and generally care about me, whether we are in the same environment or not.

• Trust:Trust is being reliable or having confidence in someone. A friend should be someone I trust and he/she also must trust and have confidence in me.

• Honesty: This is the quality of being sincere and truthful in one's dealings. So, a friend should have this quality.

• Acceptance: A friend must consent, agree or receive certain facts about someone. Friends must be comfortable around each other, especially when they are living together.

• Sacrifice: A friend should desire to help his fellow friend in need or achieve success by surrendering resources, comfort, time, etc.

• Understanding: A friend should be someone who has a good sense of judgment toward people and issues

• Respect: A good friend must have regard for someone's opinion, right, feelings and personality

These are the fundamental qualities I look for before calling someone my friend.

I want to take this moment to say a big thank you to Rev. Joshua Patrick Lambo for being a very good friend. With confidence and no missing words, I can say that you are an angel in human form. The sacrifices you made for me, your advice, prayers, commitment and trust you have in me shall never go unrewarded. God has allowed you to be part of my life so that I can achieve my dreams and aspirations and I am glad that you have significantly played your role as a friend. May God bless you and your Ministry. I love you.
