Hoof n Hook - Garran Butcher Shop
This is one and probably the only meat shop in the area outside big malls that I can keep in the street shop businesses in Australia since there is no concept of street business in this country.
This butcher shop sells top-quality beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and ready-to-eat meals especially cooked in the oven and ready to serve in the limited sitting area outside of the shop and as takeaway meals.
This shop sells different sauces, which they keep for display on the counter.
As you can see, they have everything packed nicely by the owner and his wife with the help of a couple of part-time workers during rush hours on weekends; otherwise, they do it all on their own.
Today, when I visited "Hoof n Hook," the owner, John, was busy cutting and packing meat to keep them in fridges; his wife, Wendy Tracey, had gone for fresh stock. Incidentally, Butchery is John's family business, so he shifted from the South Coast of Australia to Garran, Canberra, about a decade ago and set up his business here.
He has been in the business at Garran shops for more than seven years and is famous among the top buyers, which include the prime minister, doctors, and embassies in the neighborhood, who are all his customers.
Hoof n Hook not only sells raw meat but also cooks and offers it in the form of takeaway. They sell all the meat of the cattle that they raise at their farm.
What do they sell?
Beef
Hoof n Hook grass-fed beef butchered and sold by John and Wendy Tracey on their farm in Quaama. By the way, the meat of the cattle fed on a free-range diet is a mixture of natural, chemical-free quality native grasses from plants in the natural bushland of their farm and fresh rainwater dams. They raise their animals on Barrabarroo Farm famous for fresh meats.
Lamb
Lamb meat that comes from animals raised, butchered, and sold at Hoof n Hook in Quaama is also fed on a combination of native grasses and natural plants, no chemicals but organically farmed and with their own water resources from clean dams with filters for the goodness and healthy elements in the meat.
Gourmet Sausages
As you can see on the counter of Hoof N Hook bottles, there are gourmet sausages, which are famous and award-winning. They supply their own 15 different products of sausages prepared by John's wife, Wendy, who sets her own recipes.
Overall, Hoof n Hook markets pasture-fed beef, lamb, and pork with the best quality available anywhere in the world. Their sausages are gluten-free and made with top-quality material.
Their other items include:
*Cracked Pepper Beef
*Spicy Italian Pork
*Apricot and Ginger Lamb
They sell BBQ items as ready to eat and as takeaway. They have a sitting arrangement just outside of the shop, they provide bottled water and as very much a trend there is no compromise with cleanliness.
Australia has one of the best environment in the world so you can see this place provides best as well and there is no dearth of electric in this country as there is no power outage.
Their service is great and friendly, and the food is outstanding, especially as they are independent local businesses that come under local or street businesses that claim to serve and supply better than big supermarkets.
*Delivery
Hoof N Hook delivers fresh products to customers' homes on Fridays at $10 if the order is placed by Thursday night.
