Irrigation in paddy fields: An essential process
Our country's agriculture, especially paddy cultivation, is completely dependent on water. No crop can grow without water. Regular irrigation of paddy fields is very important to increase crop production, especially when the amount of rainfall is low. Different types of equipment are used for irrigation, such as shallow pumps, deep tube wells, etc.
Irrigation requirements

Crop growth: A certain amount of water is required for proper growth and good yield of paddy plants. Water is required at various stages from planting to harvesting.
Soil health: Irrigation maintains soil moisture, which maintains soil fertility and helps the crop absorb nutrients.

Crop protection: Adequate water facilitates weed control and reduces some insect attacks.
Irrigation methods
The main method of irrigating paddy fields is to extract water through shallow pumps or deep tube wells. These pumps run on electricity or diesel. Water is pumped from deep within the soil and delivered to the rice fields through pipes.
Water storage: Sometimes rainwater is stored and used for irrigation.
Separate canals: Small canals or canals are made to channel irrigation water from one field to another.

Importance of proper irrigation
Excessive irrigation can damage the rice plants and waste water. On the other hand, less water reduces the yield. Therefore, the right amount of water should be given according to the needs of the crop. Various strategies are being adopted in modern agriculture to prevent water wastage.
All in all, water irrigation is a very important task in rice cultivation. If its proper use can be ensured, crop production can be increased significantly.

Seeing your post today filled my heart with memories of about 15 years ago.We grew up in the city all year round. When we went to our grandmother's house as children, we would take baths from a water pump like this and play in the rice fields.I missed that golden childhood and thank you so much for taking such beautiful photographs.
