Contest Alert:Who will be my next of kin?

Next of kin we hear very often, sometimes from people around, sometimes when we fill some applications and there is always the box with such necessary information. Just in case if anything happens with person and he becomes unwell and requires something, then the next of kin will be called. So we have to say that next of kin is a person who is close relatives, some people have no relatives, then it is possible to announce a friends or neighbour as next of kin. It is a choice of ourselves, we can appoint someone for that.
It is always good to have somebody who you can call if you in need. So long we are healthy and do not need any help we can do everything ourselves. Still it is important to have next of kin. For me next of kin is my close family members and I am also the same for them. I am happy to be there if anything happen. Understandably sometimes we are not to be there in time, therefore, it is important to have few close people and friends who can be your next of kin just in case if one of your unable to be there.
For everyone it is own decision who we choose to be next of kin. For majority of people:
for children it will be their parents, children trust their parents and also parents love their children and will not do any harm to them
for elderly it will be their grown up children, who will give all love that they received back to their parents
there are some people who have no children therefore, their next of kin could be good friends
often if children live far away then their next of kin could be good neighbours, who could come and help with shopping, cleaning and also just to be there for chat and also often for financial welfare
If next of kin is not easy to reach if help needed or if those people do not care and do not provide any support, neither moral nor physical. In that case it is better to change the next of kin in order for safety of a person who next of kin supposed to care after.

Aquí en mi país se le conoce como poder, el instrumento mediante el cual se faculta a otra persona para que te represente, sin embargo el familiar encargado de tus asuntos cuando falleces, son tus herederos y a ellos no podemos elegirlos si no que la ley es quien determina quien es el familiar facultado.
