Al Munawwarah Blang Pulo Mosque
After school, I headed to Muara Satu sub-district, about 10 km from my house. I planned to take care of some personal business somewhere. As I passed a mosque on the side of the road, I stopped for a moment. I took the opportunity to take some photos for personal documentation. I also briefly reviewed the beautiful mosque currently under renovation. The beautiful mosque I'm referring to is the Al Munawwarah Blang Pulo Mosque. From the front of this white mosque, several workers were seen renovating the upper part of the mosque.

The Al Munawwarah Mosque is located on the Banda Aceh-Medan Road in Blang Pulo village, Muara Satu sub-district, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province. As we all know, a mosque serves not only as a place of worship but also social and economic functions. It also serves as a place of education, particularly religious education through religious study groups and religious studies for the general public. The Al Munawwarah Mosque features one large dome and two smaller white domes. This beautiful mosque also boasts four minarets at the front and rear. The Al Munawwarah Mosque in Blang Pulo is supported by several large white pillars or columns surrounding the mosque.
Entrance to Al Munawwarah Mosque
The floor of the Al Munawwarah Mosque is made of marble with a beautiful color, adding to its beauty. Currently, the beautiful mosque is undergoing repairs and renovations, leaving scattered traces of building materials. The Al Munawwarah Mosque remains open, unlike most other mosques in Aceh, which are closed, thanks to the use of air conditioning. Despite the lack of air conditioning, worshipping in this mosque remains comfortable and cool, thanks to the natural air flowing directly into the mosque. Other facilities, like most mosques, include separate ablution areas and restrooms for both male and female worshippers.
Special room for female worshippers
The ablution areas appear new and very clean, painted in a cream color, adding to the comfort of every worshipper stopping to pray or simply rest. There is also adequate parking for both two- and four-wheeled vehicles, although it is not particularly spacious. The Al Munawwarah Mosque in Blang Pulo often serves as a stopover for long-distance drivers due to its location on the Trans-Sumatra Highway. There is also a pavilion next to the mosque for resting, especially for women and children. The Blang Pulo village head's office is also located within the mosque area. The Al Munawwarah Blang Pulo Mosque hosts the five daily congregational prayers.
Likewise, Friday prayers are held every Friday and are open 24 hours to all worshippers and the community. Other facilities at the Al Munawwarah Mosque are similar to those at most mosques in Aceh. There are several copies of the Quran in various corners of the mosque for worshippers to use before and after prayers. There are also prayer robes (mukena) for women who don't bring their own prayer equipment. I feel very comfortable after praying at the Al Munawwarah Mosque in Blang Pulo, Lhokseumawe, several times.
