In a village called Kumar, they lived a woman who had two children. Sarah is the first born, a twelve years old girl while Zane is the second born, a seven years old boy.

These two children love and cherish their mother a lot since they lost their father in a car accident some years back and Mary their mother has been working very hard to provide for the family daily. Mary is a market seller, one who sells different food stuffs and cereal grains in the market, she does not really love her children roaming about the market so she prefers to keep them at home and lock them inside to avoid anyone of them missing.

Kumar village is a very crowdy place with many villagers from different tribes and this always made Mary scared because she really didn't know who was who since she moved in after her husband passed away, so she preferred just to be on her own space and work all day while taking care of her children.

One rainy evening while Mary was heading back home to see her children, she saw a wet yellow bird on the side of the lane and decided to pick it up because she admired it a lot and thought her children would fancy it as well.

when she got home, she was warmly welcomed by her children and they asked her what she was holding out of curiosity because the bird was trying to flap it wings but couldn't and she took it closer and told them that it was a yellow bird that she picked up by the roadside while the rain was falling and from now, it will be their pet at home. The children were so happy and overjoyed because the would get to keep a bird in their home, a bird that can hardly be caught and seen flying away would be inside their own house with them.

Mary was so happy to see her children's excited faces and quickly laid the bird gently into a bird's nest, she was able to build a little one while the children stared at it and fed the bird some grains to beak on. The following day, while Mary went to the market to work,Sarah and Zane went to play with the bird, it was dry and flying around the anteroom.

They tried to hold it in your hands but it couldn't stay at one spot so they laughed and pursued the bird with joy. Mary loved the fact that her children would tell her different stories about the yellow bird whenever she was back from the market and she would laugh out loud because they always end up saying it flew and flew and I could not still catch it.
