Two Halves of One Soul

There’s something magical about growing up with a twin. It’s like God sent someone into the world with you, just to walk life’s path side by side. That’s what my twin brother is to me :a miracle, a gift, and a lifelong best friend.

We were born on a quiet evening, just minutes apart. Everyone in our community celebrated our birth with joy and wonder, twins were considered a rare blessing. From that moment on, we became known as “the inseparables.” Wherever you saw one of us, the other was never far behind.

One memory that still makes me smile happened when we were six. We went to fetch water at the stream, a regular chore in our village but somehow lost our way on the journey back. I remember how scared I was, ready to cry, but he looked me straight in the eyes and said, “You don’t have to be afraid. Just walk with me.” He held my hand tightly, and together, we found our way home. That day, he didn’t just guide me through the path, he reminded me that I would never have to walk alone.

Through our childhood, we shared everything: stories, food, dreams, and even punishments (yes, we were a mischievous pair!). He would steal my meat, tease me endlessly, and then cover up for me when I made silly mistakes. But through all the playful chaos, one thing remained his love for me, pure and unshakable.

Now that we’re older, life has tried to take us down different roads. But no distance or circumstance can truly separate twin souls. We still know each other’s thoughts, feel each other’s pain, and celebrate each other’s wins. He is my mirror, my strength, and a piece of me I can never let go of.

Conclusion
Being a twin isn’t just about sharing a birthday, it’s about sharing a destiny. It’s about knowing that no matter how hard life gets, someone out there carries your heart in theirs.

To my twin brother: thank you for being my forever friend, my loudest cheerleader, and the calm in every storm. May our bond continue to grow stronger, and may the world never break what heaven has joined.

Thank you once again to @suboohi and the entire Steemit family. I’m so grateful to be part of this space where love, memories, and stories come alive.

Thank you for the invite, Juliet.
Why do I think that the possibility of having twins is higher amongst the Igbos and Yorubas? Now, I wish I was Igbo. This is lovely, to say the least.🥺
