Greetings and welcome to by blog. Today am glad to be a part of this challenge on celebrations and festival. Today I am going to be talking about a very popular universal religions and cultural festival that is being celebrated world wide and it’s no other than our famous Christmas celebration.

With my family at the beach on Christmas

Christmas celebration in my family was a very big celebration for us right from when we were kids. The Christmas festival was so special to us as kids that my parents starts preparing for it earlier sometimes three months before Christmas. One of the special moments about Christmas I remember vividly even as kid is that mum bought our Christmas clothes and shoes in the month of July. We were so excited and We couldn’t wait for Christmas to come. This paints a picture of how special Christmas is to us.

When Christmas is close, mum and dad buys food and drinks in large quantities and everything that would make Christmas special. We were always excited. But that’s not all, there’s a special event that makes Christmas special to us as kids and that Christmas parade. As children, we get all dressed up in our costumes and Christmas regalia and we move from house to house visiting our friends and neighbors home.

As an unwritten tradition, the people we visited are expected to serve us with food and drinks and even give us money. So we end up coming back from our Christmas parade with bag loads of gifts and money and it was really a special thing to us. Christmas holds a very special significance for us. It’s a time to celebrate love and remember the birth of Jesus our savior. As a Christian this is very symbolic and a festival worth celebrating hence the grandeur that follows it. It’s a season of love and a time to share love and be together with our loved ones.

As time evolves, Christmas celebrations has changed for us as we grew older but in the midst of all the changes, we still find a way to be together and celebrate as family and the last Christmas was not left out. We were excited when my elder brother told us that we would be going to the beach to celebrate the Christmas. So many people host Christmas parties at the beach and there are so many fun games for children and adults and the decorations are beautiful.

Me enjoying the festive day

We were so excited that we feverishly began to prepare prepare. We had lots of cooking to do and there was so much food to eat. We prepared fried rice and jollof rice, salads, sauced cow meat, fish and barbecue cat fish sauce. There was wine and plenty fruit juice and drinks to choose from. When all the food was ready, we loaded them into the vehicle and began our journey down to the beach. We went with two cars carrying about ten of us. The other of our friends had to join us later as the car couldn’t contain everyone of us.

When we got to the beach, it was already late evening because we left late. We took some pictures and some videos but because it was night the videos are not bright but we had a great time at the beach side, eating drinking and I rode on the horse for the first time with my niece.

The whole beach was agog with people swimming, riding horses and playing other games and eating, dancing and drinking. The fire crackers painting beautiful pictures across the sky as they exploded with loud bangs left a pleasurable experience and memory about our favorite Christmas. It was so much fun. We stayed there till about 10pm before we headed home due to my little nieces that were with us. They were already feeling sleepy from too much food and playing.

It was a beautiful time out and so far it’s being the best Christmas ever.

The location of this is at Elegushi Beach Road, Ikate, Eti Osa, Lagos State, Nigeria

"TYPE LESS SMILE MORE"

Christmas is more than a religious and cultural festival, it’s a bond of love rooted in various cultures and families uniting people all over the world and creating the perfect web of love and celebration.

Thank you for coming down this lane with me. Hope Christmas means as much to you as it means to me and my family!

This video is posted through speem.

Thank you for the review and assessment.

Saludos amiga.

Watching this video over and over again reminds me of the time we'll spend during our national meetup in November. I love social gatherings especially the one at the beach. Celebrations as you've stated is a time when most in my city spend time with relatives and also have engaging moments they've not had in a long while. I wish I was here. I just wished foods could be eaten in pictures, I would have engulfed a lot and to spare. Is your brother the man on white? He looks very much familiar. Best of luck in this challenge.

Thanks sir
Christmas on the beach was fun. The one on white is my cousin

Celebrating Christmas with family is a lot of fun. Celebrating together is something special. The food, the fun, the laughter, the jokes, everything makes you forget your sorrows and brings immense peace to your mind.
