Greetings Splendid Individuals

I am very happy to take part in this beautiful contest "🥰 Elderly-parents 🥰", which has been arranged by @afrinn . This is a really near and dear topic to me because our elderly parents are our unsung wisdom and love rocks. They’ve spent their youth and energy guiding us to the future and now we must revere them, respect their sacrifices, and savor their company. Through this post I want to share my views, feelings and experiences about the wonderful elders in our lives whom I feel, totally deserve nothing less than the best of love and respect from us.

Who is responsible for taking care of and serving elderly parents?

I think it is first and foremost the responsibility of the children to take care of and serve their parents. Our parents loved us unconditionally, sacrificed for us beyond measure, and dedicated themselves to our health and happiness. And now, in their declining years, it is our responsibility not just morally, but emotionally and spiritually to be there for them, to look after them, to make them feel cherished and honored. I think it’s not merely a matter of paying back, but also of thanking them for everything that they’ve done. We also need to find a way to stay connected, no matter the difficulties or physical distance, and give them the love, care and attention they deserve. That their joy and well-being should never leave us.

What should be the attitude towards elderly parents in society?

I think that elderly parents should be treated with the upmost respect, care and kindness by society. They’re living libraries filled with the knowledge of experience and should never be relegated to hindrance. We should treat them with patience, sympathy, and love. It breaks my heart to see how society in some instances abandons or dismiss our elderly. I feel so strongly that they should be honored and held in high esteem in every family and in every community. They are worthy of our time, attention and cheer. We can make their world just that much better with a little bit of love and kindness from us. After all, they were the ones who once bore us through life’s tenuous, neediest early days.

How can the dignity and security of elderly parents be ensured in society?

I think if we want to guarantee our elderly parents' dignity and security in society, it is a robust combination of family support, social awareness and right systems which is needed. First, there is family taking care of one’s parents, including them in one’s life, showing them respect and, yes, financial support and emotional support, lends meaning and belonging. Society has a huge role to play as well. Awareness is to be created about the worth and rights of the old age and the facilities like senior citizen care centers, medical facilities and the pension schemes available for them in old age. We need to create a culture that doesn’t see aging as a decline but to a kind of honor. When we love, protect, and respect our elders, we don’t just honor them, we show our children and their children a better way.

What steps should be taken to protect the mental and physical health of elderly parents?

I think responsiblyprotecting elderly parents’ mental and physical health requires some patience, attention and a little bit of planning. For one thing, they should bevisiting the doctor on a regular basis to detect illness before it’s too late and to make sure the illness is getting the right treatment. In addition to healthy food, they need plenty of sleep and some light physical activity walking, gentle exercises to maintain some activity in their body. But so ismental health. We should engage them regularly in conversation, in telling their stories and in participating in activities with the family to keep them from feeling lonely or left out. They thrive on feeling loved and wanted. Offering them hobbies, a chance to socialize with others and calm, stress free environment can really help. But, most importantly, our time, respect, and genuine caring help keep them healthy both mentally and physically.

In conclusion, elderly parents are blessings in our lives. It's up to us to cherish them with love, respect, and patience. By treating them with dignity and protecting their welfare, we are not only doing our duty but also cultivating a more compassionate, humane society. Never forget the hands that have touched us.

I would like to invite my friends @josepha @jenniferm, @chant, @paholags, @rossnenye, @owulama, to participate in this contest .
