Introduction

Harvest season in my church has always been a time of joy, gratitude, and celebration. It’s that special period when we gather to thank God for His blessings throughout the year. But this year’s Children’s Harvest Celebration was something truly unique and memorable. I had the honor of serving as the Master of Ceremony (MC), and I must say, it was a delightful experience seeing how the children poured their hearts into every activity. Their energy, laughter, and creativity made the whole event glow with happiness.

From the start of the program, the atmosphere was filled with excitement. Parents, teachers, and members of the congregation watched proudly as the children showcased their talents through drama, debate, and Bible recitation. Each performance carried a message of faith, hard work, and gratitude. I could see how much confidence and preparation the children had put into every act, and it warmed my heart as I anchored the event.

One of the most captivating parts of the celebration was when the children prepared milk ice cream live in front of everyone. It was a hands-on learning experience that blended fun with a touch of creativity. Both the children and parents watched eagerly as the process unfolded — and the result was sweet, creamy, and refreshing!

Ingredients Used for the Milk Ice Cream

Here are the simple ingredients the children used to make their delicious homemade milk ice cream:

2 cups of liquid milk

1 cup of condensed milk

1 cup of sugar

1 tablespoon of vanilla flavor

A pinch of salt

½ Cup of powdered milk

4 Fresh eggs

Whipping cream

Steps Taken to Prepare the Milk Ice Cream

  • Mixing the Milk Base:
The children began by pouring the liquid milk into a clean bowl and adding sugar. They stirred it well until the sugar completely dissolved.
  • Adding Flavor and Cream:
Next, they added the vanilla flavor and condensed milk. Some children added powdered milk for a thicker, creamier texture.
  • Preparing the Ice Mixture:
The mixture was then poured into small plastic containers and sealed tightly. These containers were placed inside a larger bowl filled with ice cubes and salt. The salt helped the ice stay colder for longer.
  • Shaking and Freezing:
This was the most exciting part! The children took turns shaking the bowl continuously for about 15–20 minutes while laughing and singing together. Gradually, the liquid mixture began to solidify into creamy ice cream.
  • Serving and Enjoying:
Finally, the ice cream was scooped into the smallest white celophine (water proof) and shared among the children and parents. The joy on their faces as they tasted their handmade dessert was absolutely priceless!

CONCLUSION

The Children’s Harvest Celebration wasn’t just another church event — it was a moment of pure happiness, teamwork, and thanksgiving. Watching the children express their faith through songs, drama, and even cooking reminded everyone that harvest is more than just food — it’s about gratitude and community. As the MC, I felt deeply honored to guide the program and witness the beautiful interaction between the children and their parents.

Events like this remind us of the importance of nurturing our children in faith, creativity, and unity. It was truly a day to remember — one filled with laughter, learning, and love.
