"Pictures tell a thousand stories-Wk24"
It is great to connect with everyone again. I am joining to participate in the "Picture Tells a Thousand Stories" competition organized by the Steemit Kids and Parents community on the Steemit platform. I want to recognize @fortwis09 for the contest.
The air feels charged with waiting. You smell marigold flowers, burnt sugar, and the low smoke of drying wood. This sets the stage for Ravan Dahan. This event is the massive final step of the Dussehra festival. It is much more than just good beating evil.
The blue sky turns deep purple as evening arrives. Huge statues stand watch over the large crowd. These are the imposing figure of Ravan.

They were built carefully from bamboo and paper. Their faces are painted stark red and black. They stand for inner faults like ego and pride. These are not just bad guys from old stories. They represent the worst parts inside all of us.
The energy surges as the procession enters the field. Actors playing Ram and Lakshman lead the way. A loud yell rises from the hundreds gathered. Ram pulls back the bowstring. A fiery arrow shoots across the dark sky. It strikes its target right away.
The explosion is sudden and loud. The figures catch fire in a rush of heat. Red and gold flames eat up the paper structures. Hidden fireworks shoot off inside the bodies. Whistles, sharp bangs, and bright sparks fill the night air. This moment offers everyone a public release.
To live a good life, people must face their own faults and burn them away. Ravan’s ten heads stand for these bad traits, such as envy and delusion.
The whole event goes beyond a simple religious act. It offers renewal for the entire community. The tall figures crash down into smoking piles of ash. Everyone feels a shared sense of freedom.
This dahan, or burning, is not an ending. It starts a fresh commitment to living better. These wicked figures will rise again next year. They will wait to be burned down once more.

Yeah @suryati, This is a yearly occasion. The statue is quit big, more than 100 feet high. The crackers are stuffed inside and burnt at last.
