"Kindness @hudamalik20"

Hello Everyone !

I am @hudamalik20 from Pakistan. I hope you all are doing great in your life. Today, I am participating in this contest topic "Kindness" organized by @drhira in Steem Kids & Parents Community.

Today, I want to share a story that I’ve never really forgotten… It’s not about a big donation or a heroic act it’s just a moment, a human connection, that taught me the true meaning of kindness.🌼🌸

It happened on one hot day after my university exam. I had skipped breakfast that morning and felt weak and exhausted. My paper ended around 12:30 p.m., and I still had some time before the university bus arrived at 1:30 p.m., so I went with my friends to a nearby market for snacks.

The weather was harsh, my stomach empty, and my mind overwhelmed with stress, house chores, and pending assignments. I just wanted to go home and lay down on my bed .

But while walking back, I saw someone an old woman,, sitting under a small tree beside a closed shop. Her clothes were simple and dusty, and she looked so tired, gently fanning herself with a folded newspaper. In front of her were a few face masks and candies, which she was selling. She looked dizzy and completely invisible to the people walking by.

Without thinking much, I approached her and softly asked, “Amma ji, are you okay?”
She gave me a weak smile and said she had traveled far to sell those items, but the heat had made her feel faint. I handed her my cold water bottle, and she drank slowly, closing her eyes with relief.

I offered her a peach from my bag, and she accepted it with gratitude. Then she told me her story: she lived alone, her husband had passed away, and they never had children. She survived by selling small things, but often couldn’t even afford a proper meal.

Before I left, she said something that stayed in my heart:

“Beta, kabhi kabhi insaan ko paise nahi chahiye hote… sirf itna chahiye hota hai ke koi usse dekhe, haal pooche, aur kuch der saath baith jaye.”

(“Child, sometimes we don’t need money… we just need someone to notice us, ask how we are, and sit with us for a little while.”)

Those words shook me. I quietly bought some masks from her and even gave a small amount so she could go home comfortably. She kept giving me heartfelt blessings.

That moment didn’t just teach me kindness… it reminded me to see people not just walk past them. To pause, to care, to connect.

🌷 Kindness doesn’t always mean helping someone financially or solving their problems. Sometimes, it’s just sitting with someone, offer them water, share a fruit, or listenn to them. That day, I gave her very little,,but she gave me a lifelong lesson.

Thank you for reading. I hope my little story reminds you that even the smallest act of kindness matters. You never know whose heart you might heal just by sitting beside thhem. With best wishes. Now I would like to invite: @neelofer @norat, and @sualeha to participate in this amazing contest.

Thanks a lot for reading.
