One thing I love to see in society is an act of kindness, but it seems this kindness is slowly drifting away. I enjoyed how people showed help to others wholeheartedly and not hypocrites who did it just for people to see. Many people are better on camera; they help people on the street, even hawks with them, but once the camera is turned off, they get back to their normal lives. They do this just to get the view, and that is not kindness in its purest form.

There are many ways in which we can show kindness to others. Kindness always involves two parties, you and the other subject. It doesn't only stop with humans because you can extend kindness to animals. Most people limit kindness to just giving but they should know that there's more to kindness than giving.

I have had such an encounter; it was a hot Monday morning, and I was rushing to school to write a test that was scheduled for 8am. I reached the school gate by 8, now trying to board a tricycle inside to where I wanted to stop, I met a large number of people trying to board this same tricycle. The number of tricycles moving into school at that time was quite lesser than the number of people waiting.

I was able to get in one, "survival of the fittest" I would say. I tried calling my coursemate's line but it wasn't going true, I didn't know the location of the class but I knew the venue name so I just asked the lady sitting beside me, she said she knew and we both alighted from the tricycle while trying to get to the venue, to note she wasn't having her lectures there, it was few blocks away from where we stopped, she just decided to help me. I reached the hall, went in, and the lecturer was about fuming. He closed the door immediately after I entered, and he said I'm lucky.

I was just thinking about how I would have been roaming to get to the location, but a kind stranger just offered to show kindness. I wrote the test, and I was happy; this act of kindness changed my heart towards strangers; always be kind.

Another narrative of kindness that turned to regret, which I experienced, ed was still in school; we were returning from school after a hectic day, and two of my friends were just conversing when a little girl came by; she was hawking. It appeared that her rubber was empty, and she sold cold water in sachets. She told us that she lost her sales money and she doesn't know what she will tell her boss.

It was a really emotional time, as my friend offered to help; we were not with cash, so he went to a point to make withdrawals. Gave her a 1k naira note to help sell again and get her capital. It was all joyful that he could help, he was so kind to do so. We had lectures the next day, and everything went well, not until we saw the same girl; I don't know if she didn't recognize the third guy that was with us that day, but she used the same scope to ask for money again, that's when we realized that it wasn't genuine. He started to have regrets about why she got his money by deceiving him and not being a plane.
