In Nigeria, there are different ways to prepare stew, which some people prefer using fish, chicken, cowhide, fried, etc. As for me, I prepared my own using goat meat and beef.
Ingredients:
- Fresh Tomato
- Sachet tomato
- Onions
- Fresh proper
- Meat (goat meat & beef)
- Vegetable oil
- Eggs
- Salt
- Seasoning
The above ingredients can be used to prepare a simple Nigerian Stew to your taste. Let's take a look at the cooking steps.
Cooking Steps:
I make use of fresh tomatoes and sachet tomatoes. I first blend the fresh tomatoes and cook them till the water gets dried and keep them aside. As for the meat, I used it, which was already cooked and preserved in the refrigerator.
- Place a pot on medium heat on the fire and pour in a small quantity of vegetable oil, and allow it to heat.
- Put in some quantity of sliced onion and fry to give the stew a sweet aroma. After a minute or so, add in your fresh tomato and fry it until it gets dry
- While frying your fried tomato sauce, add in some seasoning and spices and fry.
- Add ground pepper, and sachet/tin tomato sauce, and fry both.
- Add all seasoning and spices and stir very well.
Add a small quantity of water, and stir it very well.
Add water and allow to cook till it get thick before putting your boiled eggs.
Serve and eat
