Hello, friends welcome to my post in which I have discussed "Writing Expedition ✍️, Have Fun while Writing! Choose From Varieties Of Topics" as part of my participation in this 👉contest
Story Titled: The Bench by the Lake
This is a creative writing and a fictional story written based on fact.
Once upon a time, in a certain village, there was an old man who was always seen at a particular location by 9:00. Whenever it was 9:00, the old man would arrive at the same spot and sit on the same bench, which was by the lake. The old man's coat was so working, and his hands trembled from age, and his eyes looked blue. Whenever the old man arrives at the lake by the bench, he will bring out tea in a water bottle with a single rose and keep it by his side.
The people in the town knew the old man because he was always seen on the bench by the lake. Some people in the community are afraid to speak with him because of how quiet, calm, and polite he is, and also, he is an introvert who always stays alone. Children who were at the lakeside whispered stories that he was waiting for a ghost or a soldier who was famous in his town, but no one actually knew what was in his mind.
On a certain morning, a curious, young, beautiful woman called Elizabeth sat on the bench beside the old man. She had seen the old man there all her life each time she visited the place, and finally, she summoned the courage and walked up to the old man and asked, "Sir if you don't mind.....this rose you're holding is for who?"
The old man was startled and looked at the young woman, Elizabeth, and said Since I have been coming here with this rose, no one has asked me in years what the rose is meant for or who it is for.
The old man smiled for a while and said, "It is for my wife, Abigail". We used to come and sit here together every morning, ever since we were young. Under rain or shine we used to sit here.
Elizabeth gently asked, *** "Is she gone?***. The old man nodded his head and said five years now, but I still come here every day with her favorite tea and with this rose. Her birthday was always a rose that I bought for her; she loved roses so much.
After listening to the old man, Elizabeth didn't say anything, but her eyes were full of tears. She went back to her friends and told them what the old man said, that if love was strong enough, then silence could be a communication.......To be continued...
