✨A Little Background of Sinabawang Manok✨

Sinabawang Manok is a famous Filipino comfort food known for its yummy warm soup and the simplicity of its taste. It is usually served during rainy days, when someone is not feeling well or to all breastfeeding moms. It is passed from the old generations to the newest generation. Many Filipino family enjoy this viand.
As you go along reading this, you will be learning the easy steps on how to make it especially to those who are still on the process of learning how to cook.
✨INGREDIENTS:✨
- 1 whole native chicken
- 1 medium slined onion
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 thumb-sized sliced ginger
- 5 cups water
- 1 chicken cube (optional)
- 1 sliced sayote (you can also use papaya)
- 1 role repolyo (you can use pechay or malunggay)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3 strings of onion
✨PROCEDURE:✨
Step 1:
Pour a water and let it boil then put the chicke. Simmer it until it turns tender.
STEP 2:
Add the chicken cube (if using) and lower the heat. Let the chicken simmer again for 10-20 minutes. The the sliced sayote, onion rings, ginger and other spices.
Step 3:
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Finally, add the repolyo. Simmer it for 1-2 minutes and turn off the heat.
**Best serve with old rice or also known as in our place as "BAHAW".
✨What can we get from it?✨
- It boost immunity because of the garlic, ginger and chicken protein.
- It is good for digestion because of the warm soup that soothes the stomache.
- It is good in energy source because it provides essential calories and protein.
- It is rich in nutrients especially when using native chicken and vegetables esp when you are using the malunggay.
This dish is not just comforting and delicious but it is as well perfect meal for recovery especially when you have a flu or after a long day.
