Well it is a indeed a great controversy surrounding this particular topic as the introduction of social media to man came with lots of advantages as well as series of disadvantages as well.

Social media is very much different from the internet, yes the Internet is the one place that everything including all the knowledge of man is being stored, meanwhile social media is a platform that connects two or more people's together.

So now I will be presenting this inform of a debate trying to argue to prove whether social media as we know it is the enemy or friend.

Pros
Like I made mentioned earlier that the social media is the one place that connects two or more people in exchange of our data subscriptions, social media is a good place to start any form of relationship with someone and helps explore the world

Social media exposes most especially the young one's to adult content and therefore corrupt the mind of our future leaders.

Social media serves as a good place for entrepreneurs to showcase, advertise and manage their businesses, social media just like it helps connect people, it also helps in connecting potential customers to the right product

Social media is the one place that has or houses the highest level of fraud 🤥 and corruption, example I remember that a man once sold a mystery airport to a bank in Brazil, the bank wasn't real but the confidence alone made the deal.

Social media to some people if not all is the one place that empowers and employs anyone at anytime, speaking of musicians who happens to sell their music online, content creators and influencers earn a fortune from engagements

Cons
In other words social media can be rather addictive than being casual, most marriages are being destroyed through social media and most children spoiled and corrupt through it as well

We see most people dedicating almost all their time on social media and as a result of that it ruins their life, relationship with others even their work life as a whole

We have all weighed the pros and cons of social media in a person's life, and we can clearly see that social media, as we know it, is both important and dangerous. Social media builds social relationships, improves financial security, and helps with employment, etc..

At the same time social media corrupts the mind through exposure to adult content, social media exposed a person to the risk of fraud, fake news and social harassment.

So to conclude it all and give out a clear answer to this debate I would clearly and boldly say that social media despite the cons which of course can be avoided is indeed a friend to us all and not the enemy

Why?

It focuses on social relationships which encourages friendship take tiktok for example you can only grow strong and reach more people when you go live with others or friends to have more audience

Why?

It offers financial security, example we steemians that are earning from blogging, content creators earning from their videos, reporters, musicians actors etc

All of this generally combines to encourage a comfortable life, because happiness comes from finding good friends, financial stability, and a successful business.

Which makes me to remember what Aristotle the great teacher said "that a good life for a man is a life of happiness"
