Writing Expedition ✍️ 08 : Have Fun while Writing! (The Diary Game - 18/08/25)

On the 18th day of August 2025, I escorted my younger sister to write a very important exam that's part of the process of getting admission into the university. I prayed for a friendly weather so that things won't be disorganized that day and the weather was perfect that day. Walk with me as I tell you the complete activities of that day.

It was Monday and my sister was prepared for the exam. Hr exam was going to start 11am and we prepared on time and left the house few minutes past 9am since the school is quite far from home. We spent alot of time waiting for a bus with less passengers and when we finally saw one we were so excited. We entered Keke to one of the school's parks when we came down from the first bus and when we arrived at the park we entered a shuttle in the school to her exam center.

There were alot of people in the school that day as that was the first day the school was having Post UTME exam and Nursing candidates as well as Agriculture candidates were the ones writing that day. My younger sister wants to study Nursing that's why she was selected among those tk write that day. When we arrived at the center we saw some candidates standing on a straight line.

I asked someone if they were for 11am exam and the person said yes so I quickly took my sister's bag while she carried her exam print out and pencil to join the line. I stood at a place watching the things that were happening for that moment. The last time I was around the school premises was last October and I know I might be there again next year.

There were alot of parents waiting for their children that day. I knew the exam was going to take much time so I expected to leave that place after 4pm and all I could do was to watch and sip water. I was quite hungry but I didn't feel like eating anything. I once went to sit under a canopy but I was shown a card showcasing the price for sitting there and I stood up immediately because I can't be paying money to sit down.

I had to stand for long and I came across two guys. One of them in a first year engineering student of the school and he was waiting for his friend or neighbor, I have forgotten but I know the young girl he was waiting is somehow related to him. The other guy is a student from a school outside Rivers State and he was waiting for his cousin. We talked for so long just to keep ourselves busy.

Alot of people selling snacks were always meeting us, convincing us to patronize them but we refused even as we were quite hungry because we had no extra cash for that. We got bored and decided to stroll for awhile then after that we went to another part of the center where some cars were parked and we leaned on them because we stood for more than 2 hours.

The candidates were gradually leaving the exam hall and majority of them were looking unhappy. I saw some of them crying and we asked a particular girl about how her exam went and she said it was difficult, most of the questions she saw wasn't what she prepared for, we felt bad for her because that's not a good thing. The person the guy who's schooling in another state, is waiting for came out and she was looking unhappy too. He gave her bag to her and he said goodbye to us and left.

One hour later my sister came out and before that time I created a power up post in steemit because I haven't posted anything that day as I love to post everyday in steemit, sometimes I don't meet up because of one or two hectic tasks offline. She wasn't smiling as well and I wave goodbye to my new friend and assured him that the person he's waiting for will come out soon.

My sister and I left the exam center and trekked to the park at one of the school's gate before we entered Keke to a particular junction and entered bus when we reached then we arrived at our street junction and walked home. It was a very hectic day for us. Lunch wasn't ready so we had to eat Guava fruit after taking our bath.

The fruit was very big and I charged my phone while eating it then after one hour I operated my phone before I finally ate a proper meal that day when it was already dark. I needed to take a picture of the dark night so I went outside to snap one or two things then I entered the house back. I was glad everything went well that day and I started preparing to take my studies more serious because I was the next to write exam.
