Becoming an A+ Grade Student
About a year and six months ago,
Two of my neighbours’ children walked up to me at different times and said, “Senior, I am preparing for my Common Entrance examination, please could you guide me on how to pass well?”
Both wanted to attend two highbrow schools in my state. I was impressed.
So, I offered to teach them what worked for me during my undergraduate days.
PS: As a 10+ years kids’ ESL teacher and private tutor, teaching kids comes pretty easy for me.
That month, I asked the kids what challenges they faced.
They shared their struggles. Subjects they find difficult. How difficult it is to read for long hours, understand or remember certain topics. And so on.
After listening, I taught them simple ways to prepare for any examination.
We discussed:
- time management techniques
- memory training techniques,
- including SMART exam preparation, tools and study techniques, etc.
That marked a big turn around for both of them.
The girl emerged as the overall best in her new school which earned her a scholarship.
Both of them have moved from being average students into A-grade students who take nothing lower than second position every term.
Excited at their progress, I decided to coach a girl who was seeking admission into the university. She is one of my followers who reached out to me on social media after scoring a very poor grade in her UTME examination.

Now she is acing her courses at the university. Which makes me so happy. |

In June, I am organising a 3-month mentorship session for young people between the ages of 10-16.
It will be 100% virtual.
My targets are students who are trying to build good grades at school.
This includes learners who are incredibly smart, study hard, have extra classes, yet still earn low grades in certain subjects.
I am ready to help that child succeed academically.
Every participant will be introduced to the effective learning strategies that have worked for me and my learners these past years.
- I'd answer all their questions
- Discuss practical steps to improve their academic performance like;
a. time management,
b. memory training,
c. SMART exam preparation/study techniques, tools, etc. - Keep them updated on ongoing competitions available to children nationwide.
- Then track their progress weekly.
No glitz and glamour. It's all achieving great results!
If you are interested in enrolling your child(ren), do well to head to Paystack. You will enjoy a 25% discount when you register more than one child.

I believe every child has the ability to succeed academically.
Yet, every day, I see young people feel traumatised due to unsatisfactory grades. They don't deserve to lose opportunities, and should never have lesser faith in themselves.
I'm here to help them stand out, win laurels and always keep their heads high, even at the university level.
