Our First Dragon Fruit
Dragon fruit was once a very rare and expensive fruit in my locality back when I was still in college; that was in the year 2010 to 2014, My father and i used to pass by a fruit stand and I get really curious of what it tastes like and wanted to buy but due to our financial status, we could really not afford even one small fruit.
Fast forward to 2020, Dragon fruits had been grown all over our locality and I and very happy that our very first dragon fruit was free from my husband's friend.
Shown on the very first picture, my kids took a pose with the fruit before we cut it open, and I did not know at that time that fruits should be eaten before meals and not after. Anyway, we ate the dragon fruit after dinner that night and before we even cut it open, II took a close picture to satisfy my curiosity. I even found out that there is a hole at the bottom and it is where the flower was located and soon I found out that I was correct.
I only tasted the fruit, I gave most to my kids because they found it very delicious, the sweetness was just right and it is very juicy and nutritious as well. My kids honestly wanted more but there's nothing I could give, thankfully, my mother as well as my mother in law was able to secure a stem and planted them on our backyard. After years of waiting, we were able to have free fruits from the trees and just this week flowers had been blooming and we will be expecting fruits soon.
Have you ever had dragon fruits before? Well there are many dragon fruit varieties including a ones with white meat and black seeds which tastes less sweet compared to the pink ones and the yellow ones which tastes very sweet.
This will be all for now, thank you so much for your time and support. Your upvote will be so much appreciated! Keep safe and stay happy.

The bit about discovering the flower's origin point was also interesting. I'm curious, what variety are you growing in your backyard? Thanks for sharing this heartwarming story and those mouthwatering pics! I am really looking forward to your future dragon fruit harvest.
