Minutes after I finished reading about the Steemit Learning Challenge Season 27, I finally decided that it was time to begin what I have always wanted to do, which is, learning how to use YouTube to reach out to the introverts who just watch videos on social media but can't do their own contents because they don't want to be seen. I've done my research and I've come to see that steemit isn't being promoted on YouTube.

People don't know such a platform where written words can pay exist. They don't know there's a platform that pays them for sharing their creative YouTube video links. I already have a channel though. So I'll be embarking on creating another channel with a different username strictly for business. I just want to use a different mail and not my main mail. That's why I want to jump into this.

Task 1

Create a new YouTube channel (if you don't already have one), explaining the steps clearly.

Like I said, I have one already but I didn't want to modify the settings because of the email used. I wanted to use a different mail for this new content line of mine. Setting up my new YouTube channel.....

  • First, since YouTube is owned by Google, I had to create another Google account through my Gmail and then clicked on the profile button and clicked on add another email. From here, I was directed to Google to complete the process.

  • I followed all due processes for creating an email and arrived at the mail.... steemvoices@gmail.com. I wanted this to be depicted in my mail that's why I ventured into creating another.
  • After creating a new email as shown below, I opened my YouTube account, clicked on profile at the bottom right of my phone, click on switch account and then I added the email I created. This was done because I have other emails of which are people's own with channels.

1001270165.jpg1001270167.jpg
  • After switching to the new email I created, everything's was as new as a baby. **I clicked on the big profile that shows no channel under it. After clicking on the profile, a page popped up requesting edit the name and channel name or leave it like that.

1001271075.jpg1001271076.jpg
  • I wanted the Steem Voices name to be visible. So I left it there without changing it. I clicked on the profile with a camera on it. I added photos from my gallery and then saved it. Initially, it didn't process. I had to do it a second time before it went through. So if your first trial doesn't upload the image, they it a second time.
  • I then clicked on create channel. I would have actually created it without adding the profile picture until I set up my YouTube studio. But I did it at once to save verification stress.

The whole experience was fast, and then when I pressed "Create," i was practically done. I smiled briefly knowing that this was the beginning of a project where I'd reach out to those introvert who feels social media isn't for them and they can only view others but can't be viewed. That's where promoting steemit comes in to help these ones write and earn with their words.

How did I get this profile? And why did I choose it? Let's talk in the second task.

Task 2

Add a simple profile photo and banner (provide a clear explanation).

So, after setting up the channel and activating it, the next thing I did was make it look professional.. I started with the profile picture. How did I get this profile picture? From canva. Before going to canva, I downloaded YouTube studio to access these parts. **I had to apply for two-factor authentication as my YouTube is already verified with my phone number.

1001271291.jpg

I went to my canva and searched for Voices thumbnail. Series of related thumbnails popped up and I had to edit the one that drew my attention. The profile shows an introvert using Steemit social media platform to speak, to become popular, to be heard and to earn real money. That's how I created the profile picture.

1001271069.jpg1001271072.png
  • The banner was quite easy as I used the same format. I opened my canva application and searched for YouTube banner. The banner does have a size and the standard size was stated in the list of search options. I then opened and decided to work on it.
1001271396.jpg1001271336.jpg
  • I made my background picture with the replace icon. I replaced it with Steemit logo. I then used the colour palette to change the background of my banner to dark blue.
1001271352.jpg1001271353.jpg
1001271353.jpg1001271382.jpg
  • I then used the element icon, searched for subscribe on YouTube and then added one subscribe icon to my banner. I added my channel's name using the text icon and then reviewed everything before saving it.

1001271420.png

  • After saving it, I took it and upload on my YouTube studio which I downloaded and setup was completed. This is how I uploaded the banner. I used hand to resize it to fit the standard size and then, it was uploaded.

1001271527.jpg1001271529.jpg

Adding these two images to my channel made it look not just simple but professional.

Why I choose the profile name, channel name and banner?

I choose to use that profile to speak two things. Voicing out by the introverts and steemit. Steemit has a voice in written and spoken words. So that profile serves to explain two things.

I choose the banner as a sort of advert to reach out to these ones who feel social media is not a space for them. It was difficult to choose a perfect banner but I asked myself, what would people want to see?

The profile name was chosen to explain two things which I'll be integrating in my content.

Task 3

Write a channel description of at least 50 words (explain what your channel is about).

Adding this intro not only explains what my channel will be about, but is also intended to invite others to join me on the ride. It serves as a promotional strategy for me to invite others to join the steemit platform and earn by writing. This is the catchy description I used to draw my audience to content.

1001271833.jpg

Steem Voices is a YouTube channel that's embarking on a mission to integrate introverts that feel social media isn't a space for them to a social media writing platform called Steemit, where they can become visible in words since they can't be outspoken. This channel will promote the platform steemit as a social media where introverts can be popular with their words and earn real money. It's called Steem Voices — meant to promote the Steemit platform to extroverts as well. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Tiktok are all social media platforms I'm on and these medias are mostly for extroverts. Are you an introvert? Steemit is here for you.

Why I used this description?

I used this description to make it clear to my subscribers that I'll be promoting steemit social media platform, a platform that pays people for voicing out on written words and they my target is mainly introverts, but extroverts can have a big share it it because they'll share their creative videos on this platform and earn.

I just think this would attract people to me because many today are looking for online digital skills to earn them money.

Task 4

The last and most exciting step for me was actually filming my first video. I kept it short making it at least a 1 minute introduction of myself and the mission of my promoting steemit to introverts and extroverts on YouTube. Below is the introduction video.

After recording, I posted the video through the YouTube Studio. Watching it show up as my very first post made me feel satisfied knowing that I've achieved something. So in conclusion, completing this week's: Week 1 assignment gave me what I'd like to call the "technical know-how" and also the motivation.

What I just did wasn't just create a channel; I just literally sculpted a promotional strategy to being people on steemit. Week 1 has taught me that small things do indeed start big, and now I can proudly call myself a 'youtuber'! Can't wait for what week 2 has in store!
