Bireuen Regent Presents Awards to Elderly Residents in Commemoration of HLUN.

The commemoration of the 29th National Elderly Day (HLUN) in 2025 with the theme "Caring for the Elderly, Caring for the Nation" was combined with prolanis gymnastics and free health checks as well as the presentation of awards to elderly mothers (Lansia), Monday, June 30, 2025 morning, in the yard of the Regent's Pendopo,

The activity was organized by the Bireuen Health Office and opened by the Bireuen Regent, H Mukhlis, ST, attended by elements of the Forkopimda and heads of SKPK, Sub-district Heads and Heads of Health Centers of 17 sub-districts and stakeholders.

Three award recipients were presented by the Regent H Mukhlis, ST and Chairperson of TP-PKK Sadriah, SKM MKM, namely Manfarisyah, 93, Gampong (Desa) Meunasah Capa, Kota Juang District who is still healthy and independent selling pecal in front of her house.

Meanwhile, two other elderly mothers who are actively socializing in the community are Ainsyah Balang, 78, Gampong Pante Baro, Juli District, and Saudah M Yakop, 68, Gampong Geulanggang Teungoh, Kota Juang District.

The Head of the Bireuen Health Office, Dr. Irwan in his report, among others, said that the purpose of this activity was to increase public awareness of the importance of creating an inclusive and friendly environment for the elderly.

Implementing empowerment of the elderly through health education, community concern and participation in maintaining health and preventing non-communicable diseases in the elderly, improving the quality of life of the elderly considering that there are technical instructions for health checks for the elderly, including simple screening.

Today's HLUN commemoration began with Prolanis gymnastics attended by all participants and invited guests, then continued with elderly screening, periodic health checks, and elderly health education, explained the Head of the Health Office.

Bireuen Regent, H Mukhlis, ST in his speech, among others, hopes that through the 29th HLUN commemoration, education can be improved as an effort to empower the elderly and the reach of health services for the elderly throughout Indonesia, including in Bireuen.

"I express my appreciation and gratitude for the support and contributions of various parties in the commemoration of the 29th National Elderly Day (HLUN) in 2025," he said.
