The Diary Game|| September 23, 2025|| "Harvesting and Selling Vegetables At The Supermarket"

My Life as a Gardener still continous here in fact this was my first time to sell vegetables at the Supermarket. Before I decided to harvest my vegetables, we did canvacing some of the vegetable vendors and buyers I know at the Supermarket. Last day, as we do Marker day, buying my Daughter's Basic needs we also asked some of them if they want to buy vegetables and we don't failed canvacing it. Today, our plan will take into actions and exactly early in the Morning we started to bring our baskets and tools for cutting vegetables and went at the Garden to checked if there are young vegetables can be harvested or not be damage by any harmful insects.

It only takes a few seconds before reaching here in my Simple Garden, the last time I don't have any plans to sell some of my vegetables but as I noticed that it grows very fast and we cannot consumed all of it, I decided to harvested and sell at the Supermarket. With the help of my Partner, we hurriedly headed to the Garden while my Daughter was very busy playing with her Grandparents. I am very confidence that it will reach five Kilos as the vegetable buyers want and aside of that harvesting is not quite easy job for me because it needs to washed and clean each leaves to remove any dirt and dusts sticking on its leaves. With the use of this big red baskets, I easily put those cuttings in one place, instead of using banana leaves we only used plastic basket. I started to cut those young Camote leaves using a sharp knife, I cutted in an exact and equal length and I separated those white one to red one. We have two types of Camote leaves here and separating is much more better. Our harvesting activities here today is well prepared for tomorrow since trading of goods always done here every Wednesday.

Cutting and harvesting camote leaves really takes a lot of time because it needs to checked the exact length of the tubers, the leaves if not damage by harmful insects and the stems if there are no worms sticking on it. The Vegetable buyers says They need more Kilos of leafy vegetables and I really hope it will reached at the requested weight. The next thing we did was to washed those vegetables with clean water so the dust will be washed out and removed. It will be more attractive if the vegetables are clean that makes the buyer more satisfied also. My Partner washed it, three times enough to removed the dirt and He separated those color red Camote leaves to white. Picking and harvesting lots of it makes me very proud because I can already sees the good results behind of my hard works and dedications.

Harvesting Lemon-Grass :

I also harvested some of my Lemon-Grass plants just as the vegetable buyer also wants. I removed those two bunches of lemon-grass I have here and started to removed those dry lemon-grass leaves, removing those dry leaves was slightly hard for me because of the red big ants sticking on the Plants. The next thing I did was to cut those roots so I can plant it again at the Garden.

Harvesting Lots of Bamboo Sprouts :

My Partner also looked for any Bamboo sprouts here at the Farm and gladly He found lots of it. The process of this before selling it are washing and removing those pell, Chopped it into smaller pieces and boiled it for 45 minutes. Gladly we have lots of bamboos here that is why we gathered lots of bamboo sprouts easily. Chopping and boiling really takes lots of time, costumers wants to buy bamboo sprouts chopped into very small pieces. I only chopped those white color bamboo sprouts and thrown it own those brown like thing.

Preparing for Tomorrows Selling Day:

As everything was ready for tomorrows selling day, I prepared the things were I want to put my Vegetables, lemon-grass and well chopped bamboo sprouts. First I put banana leaves at the basket and after that I placed those vegetables in an exact position so every one of it will fit inside and can carry very easily. Next, I also wrapped with banana leaves the lemon-grass I harvested before putting in the sack. The chopped sprouts are also put in a plastic pail ready for tomorrow's big day.

Having a garden is one of the best investment in life and family source of income. We can sell lots of vegetables and the food we ate are safe and chemical free. Until next post, have a nice day to everyone.
