Have Fun at Ragunan, Celebrate Independence Day with Family

The atmosphere at Ragunan Zoo during the 80th Indonesian Independence Day holiday was bustling. From early morning, residents from all over Jakarta flocked to the area with family, friends, and even large groups.

Some spread out mats, ate together, and even took their children on tours to see the animals. Visitors were also seen holding August 17th Independence Day competitions and laughing together.

One of them was a group of Tanjung Priok residents who arrived in three buses. Despite the blazing sun, their spirits remained high as they enjoyed this moment together.

"We left at 8:30, the trip only took about an hour, and it was smooth. It was really busy, with a lot of people, because many of them brought their families," Rini told Pro3 RRI on Sunday (August 17, 2025).

Rini said she chose Ragunan because it was spacious, comfortable, and the entrance fee was affordable. "Especially for the kids, they can run around and see the animals, so they don't get bored," she added.

She said this was the first time her neighborhood had celebrated Indonesian Independence Day with a vacation to Ragunan. "It was really fun, there were some funny things, and being together like this made it different from usual," she said with a smile.

Amidst the festive atmosphere, Rini also expressed a simple hope. "Just independence, and I hope Indonesia becomes even more prosperous," she said.
