Bireuen Communications, Informatics, and Cryptography Service Holds Advanced Journalism Training for Village Youth.

To develop the potential and optimize development information in villages within Bireuen Regency, the local Communications, Informatics, and Cryptography Service (Diskominsa) held a journalism training for Village Information Groups (KIG) at the Bireuen Communications, Informatics, and Cryptography Service Hall on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Thirty-five participants from selected villages with active websites, gampong.id, attended the training.

Furthermore, some participants were alumni of the Village Journalism Training held by the Bireuen Communications, Informatics, and Cryptography Service last year. The participants were also mentored by the same resource persons: Yarmen Dinamika, Editor of the Serambi Indonesia Daily and Prohaba.

The Advanced Journalism Training was opened by the Head of the Bireuen Communications, Informatics, and Cryptography Service, M. Zubair, SH, MH, with the theme "Building Local Potential, Writing from the Village for the World."

In his remarks, the Head of the Bireuen Village Communications Office (Diskominsa) stated that this village journalism training is crucial for advancing villages through the media.

Various natural and human resource potentials exist in villages within Bireuen Regency and need to be publicized for the world to know. Zubair cited the development of the Bukit Cinta Paya Santewan Indah tourist attraction in Geulanggang Village, Kota Juang District, as an example. Initially, the area was overgrown with bushes, but after being exposed by a village resident in the media, Serambi Indonesia, the attraction has now become a favorite in Bireuen.

According to Zubair, the economic potential hidden in villages within Bireuen Regency needs to be publicized so that it can surface, which will likely attract donors to invest in developing this potential.

To this end, Zubair stated, the skills of village youth interested in journalism need to be continuously improved to keep pace with developments in modern journalism practices.

"With this advanced journalism training, we hope that village journalists will become more adept at writing reports and more productive in their work," said Zubair.
