Construction of 53 Type 36 houses, plus assistance from the Bireuen Regency Government through the Public Housing and Settlement Areas (Perkim) Agency for the 2025 fiscal year, has begun, following the groundbreaking ceremony by Bireuen Regent, H. Mukhlis, ST.

The first aided housing project took place symbolically on Friday morning (July 18, 2025) at the homestead of Maryani Hasan, 50, a farm laborer, in Blang Kuta Dua Meunasah Village, Simpang Mamplam District.

The Head of the Bireuen Perkim Agency, Ir. Fadli, ST. MSM, stated that in 2025, the Bireuen Regency Government will build 53 habitable, permanent housing units in several villages across 17 districts.

The house is a type 36 plus, or equipped with a bathroom. The budget per unit is 98 million rupiah, sourced from the Bireuen Regency Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBK) through a contractual work system, he explained.

Bireuen Regent, H. Mukhlis, stated at the location that during his five years in office, he has strived to complete the construction of habitable houses for the underprivileged.

"For these five years, I have strived to complete the construction of habitable houses for the underprivileged. In addition to the mandatory two units from village funds for each village, the houses must be permanent construction to ensure their completion," he said.

He also stated that the houses to be built through the Bireuen Public Works and Housing Agency and the Bireuen Regency Baitul Mal (BMK) will be of the same size and permanent construction.

"Why are we building these habitable houses with permanent construction? This is so that we can address the housing problem for the underprivileged in Bireuen Regency," he said.

Meanwhile, Maryani Hasan 50, accompanied by her son Muhammad Nur, 32, at the location expressed her gratitude to the Bireuen Regency Government for helping to build this habitable house, whereas previously her mother and six children had been living in an uninhabitable house.
