Regent Symbolically Hands Over Rice Aid to 46,242 Bireuen Residents

A total of 46,242 beneficiary families (KPM) in 17 sub-districts of Bireuen Regency received food aid from the National Food Agency (Bapanas), distributed by the Lhokseumawe Branch of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog). This aid consisted of 20 kg of rice per recipient.

The symbolic handover was carried out by the Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, ST, and the Head of the Lhokseumawe Branch of Bulog, Muhammad Iqbal, accompanied by members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), the Head of the Social Service, Ismunandar, and the Samalanga Sub-district Leadership Coordination Forum (Muspika), on Tuesday afternoon (July 29, 2025) in the courtyard of the Sangso Village Meunasah (village hall), Samalanga District.

The Head of the Lhokseumawe Branch of Bulog, Muhammad Iqbal, stated in his report that his office had been assigned by Bapanas to hand over the rice aid.

To recipients registered in the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN), with a total of 46,242 Beneficiary Families (KPM) in Bireuen Regency.

The total allocation of rice is 924,840 tons, with each recipient receiving two sacks (20 kg) divided into one allocation for June and July, and part for August 2025.

"We hope this assistance will benefit the people of Bireuen by easing some of the burden on household expenses for purchasing the staple food rice," he said.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, ST, in his remarks welcomed and expressed his appreciation to Bapanas for the Government Food Reserve (CPP) food assistance program, which is distributed by Perum Bulog.

This program is a concrete step in maintaining stable rice prices, ensuring supply availability, and supporting community food security, especially amidst the current economic dynamics and global challenges.

Rice, as the main staple food for the people of Aceh, particularly in Bireuen, plays a vital role in daily life. Therefore, its availability at affordable prices must always be maintained and ensured by all relevant parties.

"The presence of this government food reserve demonstrates the state's presence in responding to the community's needs," he said.

"I hope this assistance we provide can ease the burden on the community, and we hope that this assistance can be provided in greater quantities in the future," concluded Regent H. Mukhlis.
