The 2025 Aceh-wide MQK Al-Mahalli Festival Officially Begins.
The Regent of Bireuen, H Mukhlis, ST together with Abu Syekh H Hasanoel Bashry HG or known as Abu Mudi and accompanied by other scholars, Saturday (6/28/2025), officially opened the Muharram Musabaqah entitled "GEMA MUHARRAM: Al-Mahalli Musabaqah Qiraatil Kutub (MQK) Festival throughout Aceh" at the MUDI Dayah Complex in Gampong Meunasah Mideun Jok, Samalanga District, Bireuen, Aceh.
The opening was marked by simultaneously opening the Mahalli Book on the main stage in order to welcome the Islamic New Year 1447 Hijriah.
The activity, which was attended by hundreds of students, carried the theme "Santri Sapeu Kheun, Aceh Tabangun".
This activity is an event to demonstrate scientific abilities and brotherhood for students from all over Aceh.
Tgk Muhaimin as the coordinator of the organizing committee and also representing Abu Mudi said that the competition to enliven the Islamic New Year is held every year at Dayah MUDI. The competition is held for five days by competing various books studied at Dayah Salafiah.
"This competition is an opportunity for students to express themselves and show their best abilities," said Tgk Muhaimin.
The positive value, he explained, this competition reminds students to continue to increase their knowledge and insight and is an event to show the wider community, where Islamic boarding schools are able to work and produce quality students for a more moral Aceh in the future.
Bireuen Regent, H Mukhlis, ST in his speech said, the month of Muharram is not only the beginning of the new Hijri year, but also a momentum for self-reflection, self-reflection, and renewal of determination.
"In the context of Acehnese society that is thick with Islamic values, Muharram should be a time filled with meaningful activities that bring us closer to Islamic values," said the Regent.
This activity, said Mukhlis, is not only a competition, but also a means of friendship, exchange of knowledge, and strengthening the character of students in understanding the books that are the main references in Islamic knowledge.
With the spirit of Muharram, the month of hijrah and renewal, I hope this activity can be a milestone for building a young generation of Aceh who are religious, intelligent, and have noble morals," he explained.
The regional government, said the Regent, is committed to continuing to support Islamic activities like this.
