The Deputy Regent of Bireuen, Aceh Province, Ir. H. Razuardi, MT, opened the Bungong Jeumpa Festival, a platform to showcase the creativity of children and small and medium enterprises (UMKM) on Saturday morning (August 2, 2025) in the courtyard of the Regent's Hall.

Six activities were held to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia and National Children's Day 2025. These included coloring competitions for Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and Elementary School (SD) levels, a painting competition, decorative design competitions, the Bireuen March creation competition, and a UMKM exhibition.

Sadriah, Chairperson of the Sanggar Meuligoe Jeumpa, stated in her remarks that the purpose of this event is to explore the hidden interests and talents of children from PAUD, elementary, junior high, and high school levels, as well as the community in Bireuen Regency.

"In addition to showcasing children's creativity, we also want to showcase the work of Bireuen Regency residents related to UMKM products. We are inviting relevant agencies and sub-district heads to participate by opening stands so we can assess their active role in fostering UMKM," he explained.

"We also hope that through this activity, principals and teachers from various schools can showcase various results related to the development and physical development of their children," said Sadriah.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of Bireuen, Ir. H. Razuardi, stated that the Bungong Jeumpa Festival is being held to commemorate National Children's Day 2025. This is a special occasion because we are not only celebrating the richness of Acehnese culture and arts.

We are also emphasizing our commitment to making children the center of future development, as the theme of this year's National Children's Day states: "Great Children, Strong Indonesia Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045," he said.

"Through this festival, we want to showcase Aceh's rich culture, rich in art, customs, cuisine, and noble values, worthy of pride and development in this modern era. It also serves as a creative space for local artists and UMKM to showcase their best potential, whether in dance, traditional music, handicrafts, or Bireuen's unique local products," he said.

The Bireuen government is fully committed to continuing to support the preservation of regional culture, fostering art studios, and opening creative spaces for the community. "We believe that developing a region is not just about physical infrastructure, but also about cultural infrastructure and the spirit of its people," Razuardi stated.
