Kontes Komentar: Kuantitas atau Kualitas? -21 SP Untuk 7 Orang [ID-EN] Comment Contest: Quantity or Quality? - 21 SP for 7 Users

Please scroll down for English version.

ENGLISH
After the split, and the birth of hive.blog, we saw the management of Steemit, Inc. trying to boost the popularity of the Steem blockchain in various ways, and big rewards were promised and given at that time. Everyone who was there or later came and learnt the history of Steem would know this.
The expected popularity - which we can understand has a certain logical basis - is based on the increasing number of users. More users = more popularity.
What is interesting is that, on the other hand, there is an ideal that may not be written as a law, but is understood as a rule: Steem wants good writers. ‘Good’ here can be understood to mean not only writing skills, but also behaviour: no plagiarism or use of AI-generated text, no account-farming, and so on.
In this case we will set aside the topic of user behaviour, and focus only on quantity and quality, and limit the scope of users to authors and not those users who come to make capital investments in various possible economic ventures on the Steem blockchain or Witnesses (if they are also avid writers then we will only look at their existence in terms of their authorship). Give us your best opinion:
- If there are only two choices, which one do you think is more important : 1) flooding Steem with a large number of active authors; or 2) getting quality writers (which is not in large number)?
- What do you think constitutes ‘quality’ writing?
Prizes: 3 SP each for 7 selected comments (Total 21 SP). Prizes are provided by community accounts @steemseacurator and aneukpineung78.
Notes:
- This comment contest was inspired by the opinions of @weisser-rabe at https://steemit.com/hive-103393/@weisser-rabe/sww2vu. Thanks to weisser-rabe for inspiring this.
- The contest is not judging and looking for the ‘right’ comments, we are not judging opinions (and therefore cannot be considered an attempt to pit opinions against weisser-rabe's). What will be judged are other aspects such as authorship, originality, engagement.
Thank you.

contest ssea-contest indonesia steem opinion comment steemexclusive
Hello friend, thank you for the honour of serving as inspiration ;-)) In this respect, I am reporting outside of the evaluation, but full of conviction ;-))
I came to the Steem after the hardfork and saw: possibilities. Huge possibilities. For intensifying my writing, networking with other writers and readers, authentic information on a wide variety of topics straight from the source and a pocket money.
I found all of that. But unfortunately even more. Where there's money, there's no honour, you could say. Whether it's plagiarism or now AI-generated content - it's the order of the day. The problem is that it's profitable. More or less - it's not for nothing that the Steem price has continued to plummet. So it's not really "worth it" anymore, but the abusive behaviour has manifested itself in the meantime.
My solution would be to introduce an automatic system: Plagiarism check and AI detection of every post; if one of the cases is found positive, any votes go completely to @null... Burnsteem the clever way - you effectively prevent both undesirable behaviours and benefit the stability of Steem. So theoretically. Because someone would have to integrate that and whoever could do that might (certainly) have their own interests in simply continuing as before...
Another issue is the number of users. In my opinion, such a platform ONLY needs interesting authors. And I don't want to judge what is interesting. But a single photo of a bunch of grapes, which has also been rated with umpteen Steem, will not attract any readers or writers or investors here. A nice but banal game doesn't attract anyone here. And essay-like information that you can get anywhere doesn't attract anyone here...
For me, it is exciting to find first-hand information on a wide variety of topics. I don't want to turn it into an academic event; a rice farmer from Vietnam who reports on daily inspections of his fields is great. Because he has reasons for doing so. At some point he will be confronted with pests, plundering or a bad harvest. How he deals with it, what the solutions and consequences are, that is important. If that's what I have to think about the next time I eat a curry, then I was right to follow the Steemian...
The Diary Games should follow exactly this approach for once. Unfortunately, it turned into brushing teeth and preparing breakfast in a daily endless loop.
I realise that not everyone is able to write fluently, interestingly, variedly and excitingly. But you don't have to. Please, guys: then read! And vote! Ergo, the Curation Rewards must be significantly higher than those for the authors. Problem solved ;-))
We are the ones who have to adapt our attitude and behaviour on the Steem. All of the users. And that says it all. Things will continue to go downhill because everyone will carry on as before.
I hope you get more optimistic comments for your competition! Best regards from Germany!
I ran an AI test yesterday. Same text (AI generated) twice sane AI checker the results: 75% human - most likely human... The second result was: 25% human 🤭 words labelled as AI: probably, wide variety, and so on.
If you ask me the best way to get rid of AI is to give up on those contests. SEC and the rest since these are the biggest AI creators.
It's interesting how people cannot reas and write but know how to use this all. I must say that is what I learned here in 2024, the reign of AI.
There's nothing wrong with sharing songs, films, chat, playing games but not a single reward ever ends up with fun content abd I am sure that this is a huge reason why people spend time on "social" media.
A creative, relaxed day
You suggested that they should give up on Sec? I guess they don't tolerate AI and plagiarism at all. The problem we're facing is that some people are not making any effort to write. For instance, when there's a question to answer, instead of doing research and understanding the topics, they simply use AI to generate the answers. It's all about relying on AI instead of engaging in human thought, which has led to laziness. I use AI, no doubt, but I don't depend on it.
What do you mean? SEC doesn't exist since months! 8 or 9 by now!
You are part of those who didn't make any effort, remember the SEA project?
So your excuses are as good as theirs.
Thediarygame, SEC and moderators killed all creativity with their rules. Now we are a mass producer of bad content wrapped in the same layout, hundreds of posts with red questions + the same answers given by people without an opinion. After years not one of them developed a niche, a writing style or a personal blog and there's no way to find posts back because of hashtag abuse, disinterest and using hashtags no sane person would use to find a certain text...
And now we have AI.
Why should one invest a topic? 80% of what is posted on internet is old or fake info. I read the biggest nonsense spread. Read the topics of the challengers. There's no expertise and if that's the case it's better to make a fun challenge out of each topic since that is what the platform lacks: fun, a positive vibe.
What you find here are low educated people 50-80 years behind if if it comes to the modern world/logic.
If tasks are too difficult it's not strange they ask help from AI. They have no clue what is asked and the same counts for me.
Since this is all triggered by the small chance to receive an upvote it's better to give up on it and force people to use their brain and connect with others.
The AI users still win challenges
How come you don't reply to this @mhizta?
Oh, I meant to share my thoughts the day I received the reply, but I forgot. I might feel like a prodigal son, no doubt. I attempted two sea projects, but I couldn't meet the required standards. It's understandable why that might be disappointing, but I was dealing with some discouraging factors at the time, and I kept complaining about it.
My recommendation for newcomers is to join the project because it can be very beneficial for them. I see it like taking out a loan to start a business. At one point, I considered returning to sea mining, but I felt unworthy of it. What if I fail again?
Is it the fear of failing? If that's the case how come you can comment to newcomers and with me?
It would fit into the goal you set or?
Might be good to talk about the disappointing aspects.
You know where to find me.
I'm not that scared about failing. It's not me, but the person who gave me the chance. Honestly, if I had the opportunity, I would join.
It is because I have resolved the problem, and I have something to work on every day. I think that's my new recent improvement
When discussing AI, it's important to recognize that opinions can vary greatly because some people misuse it. AI was intended to provide guidelines and inspiration, which means it can be used positively. Many contests require research, and I also rely on it for that purpose. Much of what I know today comes from my research efforts.
We shouldn't blame everyone for the actions of a few lazy users who simply copy from AI. Two people can understand the same concept, but their explanations will differ, and that’s where misunderstandings can occur.
You forget something very important, AI makes up answers, makes non existing conclusions. It's not exactly the dictionary or encyclopedia. It takes its info from a certain part (for sure not the entire internet let alone good books) of the internet, old info and adds the rest.
The biggest danger is that its taken for the truth.
Like it is with all inventions meant for the good, this one is abused (not that I believe this is meant to only do good but to control, brainwash and implent woke ideas.
How many users check more than 4 sources, think after they received the AI comment andbsay: this, this and that part doesn't make sense?
Why do you join contests you have no knowledge about or experiences with?
I view a contest similarly to homework assigned by a teacher. Often, the homework may not directly relate to what was taught in class, which means students need to research the topic and explain their understanding of it. When the time comes for presentations, those who did the research will be prepared to share their knowledge and answer questions confidently.
For me, contests are particularly interesting, especially when they involve topics related to health. I take the initiative to research these subjects. My motivation for researching goes beyond just wanting to win a contest or gather votes; it's about enhancing my own understanding. When I encounter a contest topic that is challenging, I invest time in research to learn and comprehend it better.
In my entries, I'll typically mention that I found the topic difficult at first, but through my research, I was able to grasp various concepts and insights.
I’ve gained valuable knowledge from participating in contests because they require me to explore and learn more about different subjects.
I would like to know your own take on the diary game because so far, I have seen people who publish their daily lifestyle. After some weeks when I could no longer see the post I had to look for it. I was getting along with it.
Hi!
I actually have nothing against the Diary Game. In fact, that's exactly what I post in my home Community Deutsch Unplugged: my everyday life. However, not in relation to routines and things I take for granted, but things that happen to me, that I experience, that worry me or that I'm happy about. This certainly doesn't happen every day - because it's not a compulsory exercise. And I deliberately don't call it a diary because I want to differentiate myself from what is generally published under this heading.
I would be delighted if the everyday lives of bloggers from all over the world were to come back into focus, but on a deeper, more meaningful level. International understanding through learning to understand. Or something like that... ;-))
If I’m not mistaken, you’re trying to say that the diary game should be something others can learn from—perhaps sharing life experiences, struggles, habits, conditions, and lifestyles.
For me, the more I read about you, the better I get to know you. It’s been a great experience spending time with you.
Yes. That's it. And it's a big compliment for me when I'm successful opening my door to the world ;-))
I wonder if you also have something to say instead of writing a summary about what is said.
Do you know at all what a diary is? What it is meant for? Why do people keep it? Not to mention that they woke up early, as usual, brushed their teeth, combed their hair, had breakfast, and then took a nap.
If I'm not mistaken, a diary is an idea for sharing your daily life, perhaps something that inspires you, what you went through, life hacks, or maybe anything about yourself. Unless you can prove me wrong.
A diary is meant to be secret, the idea is that you have someone (in this case something) to pour your heart out and share your deepest feelings with.
Maybe not all; there are certain things about yourself that you'll not like to write down.
No one share sensitive information about their Self

What we will do if we have a lot of quantity
But have no quality
You want to live
Or you want to survive
A great difference lies in this
We live when we have the people having quality of loyalty
But we barely survive when we have a lot of people but all are fake! No one is loyal
Thousands of snakes
Can ruin your life
But a single gem
Can make your life
If the Steemit platform have the shinning star people that write the quality posts then it will be like a great family chatting each other grooming and learning together. We all are in learning phase but we should know the qualities that ALLAH has made in us we should know it and work on it.
Some are born writers some are painters some show their skills while saying the beautiful words.
So know your qualities and make your worth
So in my opinion we should prefer the quality over quantity. If we have the quality we can make the Steemit platform more adorable.
I picked out one sentence from your entire write-up. You mentioned, "Know your quality and make your worth."
That's impressive, you know. However, I have a different perspective on this topic. For example, let’s say we have a writer who produces quality content; I think that would be more interesting, wouldn't it? Everyone could learn from each other. Instead of just focusing on quality, what about my own worth? Throughout my life, I have never felt as happy as when someone looks at my post and says, "Bro, you have done a lot. This is a quality post."
You see, that particular post was about homeless people in my community. I went to the railway station to take pictures showing how people survive without a roof over their heads.
What I consider quality, another person may not see the same way. We all have different perspectives and ways of thinking.
Know your wort.
as long as people go for their niche, there's quality, something to see but also to learn. Interaction wouldn't harm either. If people can cat with strangers on WhatsApp, Discord, x and wherever they go, why not on Steemit?
Hey @aneukpineung78, it’s been a while! Good to hear from you. I want to apologize for how our last meeting went.
While discussing comments on Steemit, I realized that many people are putting in their best effort to make this platform engaging and appealing. However, it seems we may not be fully meeting our potential.
If we look at other social media platforms, we can see that what makes a platform popular is active participation, especially from creators who share high-quality content. Now, looking at our platform, people are doing their best by sharing their personal experiences, daily lives, and passions. Some are even exploring areas we might not have known about before, like trading.
When we check in on the new community, we notice that new members are joining every day and introducing themselves. However, I’ve observed that many of them feel uncomfortable posting after their introductions. If we conducted a survey of active posts versus registered accounts, we would likely see a significant gap between users and active participants.
We should focus on how to make this platform a space where everyone feels comfortable building their own community. This brings me to the topic of curation.
One factor that may discourage content creators is a lack of appreciation for their work. If creators don’t feel valued, they may not be motivated to continue posting. In my opinion, we need to examine how successful creators engage with their audience and also consider how we can support newcomers trying to establish themselves in this space.
My friend mentioned the use of AI, and it seems we are inadvertently following trends from other social media platforms. It appears we might be importing AI-driven comments into the steemit platform, which could lead to inauthentic interactions rather than genuine user engagement.
Yes, I know, I have been so busy lately. I hope all is good on your side.
You are right, active participation is a requirement for the popularity of a social media platform.
Can you suggest any thought about it to answer the question "Why"?
If newcomers experience the same challenges I faced when I first joined, I believe I can help them. One of the best ways to assist newcomers is through mentorship. They are new to the platform, and even though we provide suggestions for posts and guidelines, many may still struggle to understand everything. I'm sharing my experience because I know what I went through.
When I first joined, I was encouraged to participate in a mentorship program, which unfortunately came with a cost. I decided against it and promised to navigate my journey independently. However, I have noticed significant developments on the platform since then. Newcomers can now join Discord to learn more about Steemit. It took me some time to realize that we even had a Discord channel.
I believe we need to question the mentors who referred new users to the platform. What are they doing to help these newcomers progress? I have already gone through it all and managed to figure things out on my own. I learn from various users and share what I’ve learned.
When I see the user @emishael60, it brings me joy because I feel like I did my best to support him through his struggles, just as I experienced my own challenges.
Quality must always be the top priority. Nothing else matters. It could become a slogan. I trust that, at least in the long term, those at the top will realize that a mechanism or consensus must be found to reward quality. To keep creators motivated and force those who are not to improve.
There is very little support for artists. Everything remains on volatile paper. Semi-transparent. You can count on one hand those who promote creators who need help. It must be constant. So that it is visible. So that changes can happen.
More space for criticism. Criticism of all kinds. Well-founded. That helps us improve. It doesn't have to be a simple platform where strangers post things. It must be the place for art. The meeting place. The shade under the poplars. Where to have tea and chat with friends.
Hello, how are you? I just joined this contest and would like to leave my comment. After reading all your comments and roughly understanding what was discussed, I also wanted to mention something. It's true that Steemit needs writers who give their all and write quality content. Since I joined, I've tried to do the same: give my all and try to create quality content. It's worth mentioning that there are fewer and fewer active editors in the communities, so the more quality writers there are, the more active editors there will be. Now, why do people like your content? Because well-written and well-structured texts are worth reading. I know I'm not very well-known, but I also wanted to leave my comment.
Can you tell me what you mean by editor?
People join out of own free will and should be free to post what is good for them.
I assume most users are adults and know how to read and write. If not I believe this is not the platform to be unless you are an investors since tgat is what Steem needs most of all.
Great you joined.
♥️🍀
Sorry, the word wasn't editors but writers.Amd thanks
thanks for letting me know.
Thank you
I remember the last time I joined a contest on how to write and recognize quality posts. I observed what other participants were doing, their suggestions, and what stood out. I benefited a lot from this experience because I focused on how to improve the quality of my own content.
They said you must:
After reading this, I considered how I could incorporate all these elements, believing there was no way I wouldn’t receive support. But guess what? Even when people try their best to create quality content, they can still receive no support. Just imagine taking the time to create a video and posting it on social media, like TikTok, only to get no reactions, no likes, and no engagement. How would you feel?
If we want to judge the matter of having writers who produce quality content, it could take a long time. In my opinion, everyone believes that what they share is of sufficient quality.
Thanks friend for the comment, I agree with what you say, thanks for sharing your experience with me.
Seriously? This nonsense has been said for years. Every month in 2024, we had the same contest, with the same question and the same answers. The biggest joke is that none of these people were able to write something catchy.
Good, catchy, worth discussing or thinking over has nothing to do with what you described, which is layout and nothing else.
Most images are shit by the way. Chaotic, rarely fit to the text, the writer which makes it only worse to read.
A good writer will not use many different pictures to distract the reader from the written word. I assume you never read a book without pictures?
I have mixed feelings about reading posts. For instance, a post without images can be difficult for me to focus on. Personally, I tend to concentrate more on images when I read. However, I also believe that if a user includes images that are unrelated to the post, that can be problematic.
I have not been a fan to long though
If you cannot focus on text it means you cannot read.
It also means it might be easier for you to read if text isn't justified.
Next to that there are plenty of posts for those who don't like to write or read. Photoshoots of all sorts, art, animals, videos, film, games.
If someone goes for text the force of using (4-5) pictures to cut text in pieces or give users an extra long scroll to continue to read a few lines shouldn't be forced upon.
It kills the text.
I know what I like... 🤣🤣
The number of authors or the quality? This is a difficult question, and it cannot be answered unequivocally. We need both. As mentioned above, everyone here is in small families who read each other and sometimes comment on each other. Nevertheless, there is no big unification. If I participate in a contest, I post a link to my work, but I don't read other authors, because my goal is to participate, not to read others. As a rule, there is no time for this. Only personal communication makes it possible to be interesting to each other. For example, the Russian community survives on stimit only by communicating outside the platform, supporting each other and reminding them to make a publication. Yes, a reward would be a nice addition :) In our case, communication on stimit turned into friendly communication.
We know each other well, AI is simply excluded in our case.
There are authors who write every day. It's me. I like writing a diary because it's a personal story that needs to be preserved.
Maybe this is the most important story in a person's life. Thanks to Stimit, I finally started keeping a regular home diary. All this is due to the habit of doing it here on stimit.
Such diaries are a guarantee of unique content if the user treats himself and others in good faith. I also know authors who can take two hours to manually process photos to post them here. Without demanding any reward for high-quality content. I haven't come across much AI here because our community is small and high-quality :)
High-quality writing is a different concept for everyone. I have determined for myself that everyone should do what no one else will do for him. Writing from the heart and writing with the soul, educating children and adults to understand life, principles of ethics, and glorify kindness - that's what's important to me.
Is it important to have a high number of people if you like you say you and the rest of the community only come to steemit to drop a post?
I agree with you that we can only connect if we talk to another, but how else can we show interest and start a conversation if we never read to another? if that's the case we all stay in our own little space and will never spill a word.
I am not so sure if the most important thing in a person's life is a diary. To me a diary should be very personal and not brushing teeth and polishing shoes and taking a nap for the 3rd time today while I wait for the next meal being served. I wouldn't share my worries here, nor in my diary, since no one is interested, and paper might be patient, but people are not. Besides, the idea that everyone can make a copy of Steemit and start a new platform is also not something I am flattered by (sounds like plagiarism since no one gave permission to take it all).
I believe if it comes to the question, what is the best for Steemit, it is quality (Who would pay for what is posted here?) and investors, since that is what Steemit is about.
Who knows there can be a third aspect like gaming, more fun, but it will take a very long time to achieve that.
