The threat of drug abuse in Sampang Regency continues to be a serious concern for the government. The young generation, who should be the nation's hope, are often targeted by drug dealers.

Mohammad Imam, Head of the Economic, Social, Cultural, Religious, and Community Organization Resilience Division of the Sampang Agency for National Unity and Politics (Bakesbangpol), emphasized that drug abuse not only damages health but also threatens social resilience and the nation's future.

"Drug-free health must be a shared commitment, because drug abuse will ruin our children's future," he emphasized on Tuesday (August 26, 2025). This statement was made during an interactive dialogue on RRI Sampang.

The Sampang Regency Government has taken various preventative measures, including the recent destruction of 15 kilograms of methamphetamine.

"This action demonstrates our commitment to eradicating drugs. In addition to law enforcement, outreach continues in schools and universities," he said.

The outreach program aims to make children and adolescents more aware of the enticements of drug dealers. This effort is expected to protect the next generation from illegal practices and future destruction.

Imam emphasized that protecting young people from drugs is the same as protecting the future of the nation. "If our youth are destroyed by drugs, then the nation's hopes will be shattered," he concluded.
