A House Burns Down in Gandapura, Bireuen, and All Its Contents Burned.
A fire has struck again in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province. This time, a house burned down in Blang Keude Village, Gandapura District, Bireuen, on Monday, August 4, 2025.
The fire occurred at approximately 9:45 PM WIB. The wooden house that caught fire belonged to Taufik (41), whom he shared with his wife and children.
The fire destroyed all of the victim's possessions. Fortunately, there were no fatalities. However, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
According to reports, the house was empty at the time of the fire. The homeowner was not at home.
The house was an old one where Taufik had lived with his wife, Rusma Wahyuni (31), and their three children, Ahmad Riski Maulana (12), Muhammad Al Basyir (10), and Muhammad Rasya Hafaya (4.5).
Several residents saw the rapidly spreading flames engulfing the house. Realizing the fire had broken out, they immediately extinguished the fire using whatever firefighting equipment was available and reported it to the Kutablang and Bireuen Fire Departments, as well as the Krueng Mane Fire Department (North Aceh).
To extinguish the fire, one unit from the Krueng Mane Fire Department (North Aceh) was deployed, assisted by one unit from the Kuta Blang Sub-Post and two units from the Bireuen City Main Post.
The rapid spread of the fire consumed the entire building, completely destroying Taufik's empty home, which had been abandoned by its owner.
Firefighters carried out thorough cooling operations, especially considering that several other homes were nearby, one of which was affected.
Meanwhile, Taufik, the homeowner at the scene, stated that before the incident, after finishing work at the fish market, he had returned home to shower and clean up.
After showering, he turned on the porch light, but all the lights inside were turned off. He then returned to his in-laws' house on Gle Kuprai, near their new house, which was under construction.
Meanwhile, his wife and children had already returned to their in-laws' house, which was about 2 km away. Taufik, who works at the fish market, received information that a fish tank was about to be unloaded. He rode his motorcycle from his in-laws' house to the fish market to unload the fish.
On the way, he and other residents saw a bright light in the sky from a distance, which they thought was from the night market in Kuta Blang District. However, Taufik was unsure at the time. He saw the bright light and embers flying near the cellular tower near his house.
He was worried that the fire would spread to his house, which was already burning due to its proximity. Taufik rushed home and, indeed, saw his house was already ablaze.
"I was on my way from my in-laws' house to the fish market, where I was unloading fish. When I arrived at the Gandapura Mosque intersection, I saw a bright light accompanied by sparks. I was worried that our house would catch fire because the fire was near the tower. When I got home, I saw that the house was already on fire," said the victim, accompanied by firefighters.
